Sam Tarry Goes After Starmer for “Dirty Tricks” Deselection

Former Shadow Transport Minister and deselected Labour MP Sam Tarry is ramping up his two-year-long battle against Labour HQ for what his allies calldirty tricks” in the selection process. Tarry has now submitted an official complaint to the party. At least his “soulmate” Angela Rayner supports him…

The Tarry campaign alleges that a highly suspicious number of people were not living at the addresses that they were registered to on the membership system when they voted to deselect him 58:42. This comes as the Met Police’s Cyber Crime unit begins an investigation into Labour’s chaotic Croydon selection process, which uses the same system. Anonyvoter is designed by Maddie Henson, a Labour wannabe London assembly candidate…

Aggrieved Labour staffers say the vast majority of candidates are stitched up while a central Labour official tells Guido, predictably: “Cranks claim conspiracy. Would you believe it.” Tarry might have to take this further than Labour’s complaints department if he wants to get anywhere…

Corbynista MP Refers Himself For Deselection

Wacky Labour Corbynista Lloyd Russell-Moyle has today submitted himself to face a vote of confidence amongst his local members. In an email obtained by LabourList, Russell-Moyle wrote to local members saying that as he was imposed on the local party in 2017 by Labour’s NEC, he will only re-stand with the support of the local membership.

“In 2017 in the snap general election I was imposed by the NEC as your candidate in the election with grassroots members not having a say in my selection. I pledged that I would not re-stand unless I had the confidence of the members.

“Using an anonymous third party voting organisation, members will be emailed with a poll asking if they support me staying on as the Labour candidate with the results being given to the CLP executive directly.”

Russel-Moyle, who supports mandatory re-selection of Labour MPs, should be congratulated for standing by his principles. Labour MPs under the ‘trigger ballot system’ will not face an automatic vote of their membership unless more than one third of local party branches or affiliated branches oppose their candidacy. Labour MPs have until July 8 to indicate if they would like to continue their candidacy or not…

Luciana Berger’s CLP Chair ‘No Longer Employed” After Appearing on David Icke’s Show

The Chair of Liverpool Wavertree Labour Party, Dr. Alex Scott-Samuel, has lost his job over his appearance on a show broadcast by anti-Semitic conspiracist David Icke. He remains in the Labour Party, attempting to deselect his CLP’s Jewish MP Luciana Berger…

His former employer, the University of Liverpool told the Jewish Chronicle that “Dr. Alex Scott-Samuel is no longer employed by the University.” This is following his appearance on the Richie Allen Show in February 2017, Dr Scott-Samuel was introduced as a senior lecturer at the University of Liverpool.* He told the audience that “The Rothschild family are behind a lot of the neo-liberal influence in the UK and the US. You only have to google them to look at this.”

Other guests on the show Dr. Scott-Samuel appeared on have included former KKK leader David Duke, and self-described “Holocaust revionist” Alison Chabloz. The Labour Party has only expelled twelve members for anti-Semitism. Astonishingly, Dr. Scott-Samuel is not one of them…

UPDATE: the University of Liverpool took down his webpage late this morning:

UPDATE II: They appear to have forgotten this reference.

What’s Going on in Grantham?

Last night Grantham Conservative Association’s Executive Council voted unanimously to start the process of selecting their candidate for the next General Election. Usually this process is a formality undertaken just before an election with the executive simply waving the incumbent candidate through. If the executive do not vote to approve the incumbent, it goes to a ballot of the full local membership…

This morning the Association Chairman sent a letter to the local party membership attempting to downplay the executive’s moves last night, claiming that the media had carried “exaggerated reports of deselection moves on the part of the Association.” The local party chairman insisted that the party executive are “merely trying to ascertain what Nick’s intentions are for the future.” Last year Boles revealed he intended to resign the Conservative whip if the Government were to pursue No Deal…

The Conservative Party Constitution is ambiguous on the time an incumbent MP can take to respond to their local party’s request to apply to be re-selected for the next election. If Boles holds off submitting a formal reselection request then the executive can’t hold the reselection vote, and it’s not clear if they can actually force him to do so. Reportedly 300 local members have sent the local party letters regarding Boles’ position on Brexit. Failing to clarify if he wishes to continue as a Conservative will only fan the flames…

Chuka’s Local Party Seized by Corbynites in Mass Meeting

Corbynites succeeded in seizing control of Chuka’s local Labour Party in Streatham last night, with local members turning out in their hundreds to a mass meeting in order to vote to change the model for participation at meetings, so that any member can vote no matter how long they’ve been in the party or whether or not they hold a position. They won. This is a big win for Corbynites and a big step towards deselection for Chuka…

The meeting was reportedly chaotic, with heckling, intimidation, and general confusion throughout the meeting. The final tally saw 190 members voting to change the system and 183 voting against – a knife-edge result of 50.9% – 49.1%, with victorious Corbynites gloating using the #ChuckChuka hashtag. They are desperate for the symbolic victory of pushing him out before he jumps to his new centrist party…

Momentum strategically began their deselection moves last year against Brexit-backing Labour MPs like Kate Hoey, Frank Field, John Mann, and Graham Stringer, thereby bringing some fanatical remain-voting Blairites on board the deselection train. Now their revolution is eating their own…

Chuka’s Local Party Making Deselection Moves This Evening

Streatham Constituency Labour Party is this evening holding a special all member meeting to vote on whether future meetings should be switched from a delegate based ‘General Committee’ structure to an ‘All Member Meeting’ structure, whereby any member can vote – a move recommended by Corbyn’s ‘Democracy Review’. By switching to All Member Meetings with one member one vote, it will be a lot easier for the new influx of Momentum members to successfully move to deselect Chuka…

But local left wing members are worried that the Blairite controlled local party executive are deliberately not publicising the meeting so that they can keep the General Committee structure and keep pro-Chuka control of the local party.

The meeting was originally supposed to take place in November but was abruptly cancelled without a reason being given. Now the hard left are so worried that the meeting will be poorly attended by new Corbynista members that they have drafted in left wing websites and even Owen Jones to promote the new meeting. One to watch…
