Rachel Riley Wins Defamation Ruling Against Laura Murray

Justice Nicklin’s ruling in the defamation case between Rachel Riley and Laura Murray has been published. The Countdown presenter has won the first round of her libel case against the former Corbyn aide. It is a quite convoluted Twitter spat from March 2019, when Ms Riley and Ms Murray exchanged tweets after Mr Corbyn was egged on a visit to the Finsbury Park Mosque in north London.

Ms Riley tweeted an image of another Tweet by Owen Jones, about an earlier time when former British National Party leader Nick Griffin was egged. Owen’s tweet said: “I think sound life advice is, if you don’t want eggs thrown at you, don’t be a Nazi.” Murray responded in a tweet that Rachel Riley was “as dangerous as she is stupid” and that “no one should engage with her”.

Murray went on “Today Jeremy Corbyn went to his local mosque for Visit My Mosque Day, and was attacked by a Brexiteer.” adding for good measure “Rachel Riley tweets that Corbyn deserves to be violently attacked because he is a Nazi.” Riley, who is Jewish and has been an outspoken critic of the Labour party’s management of antisemitism complaints, is suing Murray for £50,000 in damages, calling her words “an appalling distortion of the truth”. Murray claimed she was simply expressing an opinion in the tweet and it was not defamatory. The judge ruled it should go ahead for a full defamation hearing. The arguments were quite complicated and you can read the full ruling here.

Laura Murray, who Guido kids you not, now manages complaints against Labour for the party, will now have to prove that it is true that Rachel Riley would support violent action against Mr Corbyn or possibly lose £50,000. Do not worry that Laura Murray is a penniless Corbynista up against a rich celebrity, she is the daughter of Andrew Murray, the aristo communist Corbyn adviser and her mother finances the Communist Party. She gave Laura a £1.3 million home, neatly avoiding inheritance tax. So if Murray loses, she can just sell the property…

Labour Leadership Update: Becky Assures Nepotism, Thornberry 21 CLPs Short

There’s just a week and a half left of this stage of the Labour leadership contest, with CLP and affiliate nominations closing on the 14th. Three out the four have made it onto the ballot, so there won’t be a Valentine’s Day Massacre of candidates…

Keir Starmer and Becky Long-Bailey surpassed the required 33 Constituency Labour Party nominations to make it through – with Starmer now surpassing Corbyn’s 2015 nominations – and Lisa Nandy has secured her place on the ballot through affiliate organisations. Thornberry has just nine days to clinch an additional 21 CLPs…

Along with the three confirmed candidates, it looks like Seb Corbyn and Laura Murray (Andrew Murray’s daughter) are now also more secure in their jobs. Long-Bailey called them to reassure that when she said future promotions in Labour would be based on “what you know not who you know”, and that nepotism had contributed to Labour’s defeat, she wasn’t talking about them. So who exactly was she talking about?

Laura Murray’s Off-the-Shoulder Pro-Brexit Protest

Looks like not all of Team Corbyn were too happy with his decision last week to formally announce that Labour would campaign for Remain. Former close aide Laura Murray, now Labour’s controversial Head of Complaints, just happened to change her public Facebook profile picture to feature a Norwegian ‘Nei Til EU’ [No to EU] bag. The same day Corbyn announced the switch…

Who’d have guessed that Corbyn’s inner circle were still diehard eurosceptics…

Rachel Riley Suing Labour’s New Complaints Adviser

Jeremy Corbyn’s adviser Laura Murray (daughter of literal communist Andrew Murray) is being sued by Rachel Riley for libelling her yesterday on Twitter. Murray has today been moved by the Labour Party from being “Stakeholder manager to Leader of the Opposition” to providing support to the party’s complaints department. You couldn’t make it up…

Nice for Jewish people to know that the complaints team is now advised by someone who lied about a Jewish woman on Twitter, and after thousands of retweets then decided to delete her entire Twitter account in shame. Looks like she will have a serious complaint in herself to be dealing with first…

Seb Corbyn Embarrassed By Momentum Video Mocking Nepotism

Momentum have released a new video parodying a middle class garden lunch where the capitalist classes sneer at young Corbyn voters over glasses of white wine. The film mocks one posh character who says “People think they deserve a job without doing the necessary work to get it. Nobody ever helped me out” – the caption then goes on to say that this character “Got his job through his father”. A very brave line for Momentum to be taking given the Corbynistas’ own penchant for nepotism…

Seb Corbyn, son of Jez, is employed by John McDonnell. He “got his job through his father”, to coin a phrase. Then there is Laura Murray, a Shadow Cabinet adviser who is the daughter of Labour’s communist campaign chief Andrew Murray. John Prescott’s son David obviously got his job in the Leader’s Office on merit. And don’t get us started on how many of Jezza’s top team went to the same Winchester private school. Well done Momentum, slow clap.
