Back in October business secretary Jonny Reynolds’ LinkedIn said the above with regard to his work before parliament. It has been changed to the below. See that bit where it says “Solicitor”…
In addition his personal website said the following from 2012:
“About Jonathan Reynolds. Jonathan Reynolds was elected as the Member of Parliament for Stalybridge and Hyde at the 2010 General Election. Prior to this he was an elected member of Tameside Council, representing the Longdendale ward, which is within the Stalybridge and Hyde constituency. He also worked as a solicitor in the Manchester office of law firm Addleshaw Goddard.”
The page no longer exists. As Guido revealed this morning Reynolds never qualified as a solicitor – a legally protected profession – despite saying he “worked as a solicitor in Manchester city centre” in parliament. Usually a good idea to get the CV in order before you enter government – the Chancellor can back Guido up on that…
The day after Starmer U-turned and refused to blame Trump for the war Rachel Reeves told the Mirror:
“Obviously no sensible person is a supporter of the Iranian regime, but to start a conflict without being clear what the objectives are and not being clear about how you are going to get out of it, I do think that is a folly and it is one that is affecting families here in the UK but also families in the US and around the world.”
