    Ed the Axeman says:

Just wait Polly when the real legacy of you luvie club comes out – debt.

Even the BBC last night on Radio 4 has picked up that the next generation is left with trillions of debt.

The accounting fraud of hiding it off the books isn’t going to work.

Blaming the bankers isn’t going to work either.

As the cheerleader for debt, the next generation is going to blame you.

225,000 plus 9K a year in interest. Some legacy.

    Mr Toynbee says:

What has this loathsome tub of lard ever done in her entire life that has been of benefit to society? Getting into Oxford on 1 A-level might be considered an achievement, but it’s a bit easier if your grandad is a famous historian. Writing acres of self-regarding tripe in the Grauniad doesn’t count, either.

She was on the Beeb just this morning, pontificating about how iniquitous it is that people with connexions can bypass the restrictions imposed on lesser folk. It would be hilarious if only the licence-fee tax wasn’t funding it.

    Sums it up pretty well.

    Luke says:

Guido – Just followed all your tweets about that millionaire socialist and you have given a voice for so many people form my background so fucking angry at hypocritical socialists like her. I am sick of her hypocrisy. Claims Labour’s state schools are good and making progress but sends her kids to private schools at a fee per year I have yet to earn per year! She is the biggest hypocrite in the business and you’re attempt to show her hypocrisy was well made.

You can’t claim Labour’s state schools are great and send your kids to fee paying kids at the same time. It is madness.

  16. 16
    Gordon Brown's Abacus says:

Rank hypocrisy has and always will be the defining mark of the left – “do as I say, not as I do and don’t EVER ask me to live in the real world we create for everybody else to suffer in while we live in luxury and comfort”.

Toynbee is the high priestess of this – a truly despicable, absolutely loathsome person. Mind you, is that true about kids in a church school? That takes it to another plumb level…

  17. 17
    Ol' Blue Eyes says:

Her whole attitude is unbelievable. Her earnings are “not exceptional for her profession”! Tax is a “collective” thing! She shouldn’t be expected to be “like Gandhi”!

FFS woman, no one expects you to give everything away and wrap yourself in a bedsheet but to decry private schools while sending your kids to them is obscene. To have 3 homes while bleating on about inequality is obscene. Calling people far less well off than you greedy and selfish for wanting to keep more of what they earn is obscene. You are a disgusting woman who disguises her own greed and selfishness behind a mask of left wing politics the way religious hypocrites hide theirs behind a mask of piousness.

    Cyclops of Kirkcaldy says:

What she calls poison, others know as medicine.

  19. 19
    avseer says:

Polly Toynbee – the epitome of everything I loathe about the lecturing socialists in this country that have more money than most of the working classes combined yet feel it is their right to brandish the worst kind of hypocrisy that can be visited upon any of us.
I loved the dress down she got from Ian Hislop who unloaded on her once on Question Time as she bemoaned the millionaires on the Conservative front bench… I remember him reeling off all of her assets and her response was priceless – now you’re being personal or something akin – so POT OLDER BOILER, BLACK!

You know, Guido, that life has it’s ups and downs. Just when life seems to be a meaningless slog, along comes Polly and proves that you are on the right path after all. Well Done!

  23. 23

Yet more proof that all feminists really want is a good shagging.

  24. 24
    Article 38 says:

Being lectured by Toynbee about social mobility is like being taught monogamy by Hugh Heffner.

  25. 25
    Glyn H says:

So ‘Ms’ Toynbee (keeps her ‘famous’ earlier name like that ghastly Mrs Pinter) can’t tell the difference between Gordon Brown and Guido?

    The funniest bit is where she uses her privileged position to be given the last word, safe from any response, to say;

“Hypocrisy? I don’t think so. I’ve always been honest about who I am, what I stand for and why.”

Well, duh, Polly, you’re not being accused of being ‘inconsistent’, you’re being accused of being a hypocrite because the way you live is so wildly at variance with what you preach and would like to inflict on others.

She’s so blind to her own faults she doesn’t even know the meaning of ‘hypocrite’!

  29. 29

If you look, you’ll see that she ignored the hard questions and preferred to ‘engage’ only with the soft ones that allowed to to spout what she wanted rather than what she was being taken to task about.

Interestingly though the idea that she should only engage with others in the ‘left wing bubble’ was actually advocated by some posters!

    Thatcher's Iron Stiletto says:

She’s a legend in her own mind.

She said the other day that the left had a monopoly on intelligent people.

It makes me more sad that people like her exist in this country, than the rioters and looters and illegal immigrants. They are just the symptoms, while she is the disease.

George Galloway says of his former Respect candidate the UKIP MEP turned Tory, Amjad Bashir…

“Clearly Bashir does not have any real political principles or commitment, only naked opportunism and self-interest. He represents the revolving door principle in politics. The Tories are welcome to him because he will cause them embarrassment. Fortunately Respect was able to act before he did it to us.”
