UKIP Breaking Through on 19%

lowbour

Yesterday Guido spoke to a number of UKIP staffers – they were saying they are overwhelmed with new support.  They were particularly excited by the cross-over from former Labour voters.  UKIP plan to run a bigger poster campaign than they did at the last Euro-elections.  Punters are even betting on them beating Labour for third place.  Tebbit was right, UKIP look to be the big beneficiary of the revulsion at the expense scandals engulfing the three major parties.

For the euro-elections YouGov have the Tories on only 28%, Labour on 22%, LibDems on 19% and UKIP have risen 12 points this week to 19%, the BNP are on 4%.  Despite Labour propaganda about the dangers of the BNP, it looks like it will be UKIP who are going to be the big winners from the anti-political zeitgeist.

If UKIP achieve their aim then they won’t exist any more cos we won’t have any MEPs to trough, so that problem is solved.

        Oh, and your team’s rubbish.

You’re missing the point. The UKIP didn’t try to protect them the way ZanuLabour, the ToryToerags and the LimpWristedDemocrates did. They booted both of them out of the party as soon as they got caught.

Even members of our local CLP are supporting the UKIP. Anonymously of course. Brown’s blackshirts would crucify them if the did it openly.

Take a look at these two:-

1/ You have a silly bias for “Bigger Cartel = Better” in actual fact “More trade = Better” and we can get more trade outside the EU customs cartel.
2/ Maybe the things we make are expensive because our companies are burdened with loads of regulations. I wonder where regulations come from?

I have no wish to support Brown but don’t you think the prime minister who should really be in the frame as the worst ever is Anthony Lynton Blair? My view is that he oversaw a culture of entitlement amongst the Guardian reading elite in which sanctimonious self congratulation about being the “nice” party permitted Labour MPs (and a pile of assorted hangers on with consultancy contracts which were a license to print money) to lose sight of reality. The expenses pot was doubled on his watch.
Obviously this zeal for filling one’s boots then extended to other parties and whilst I am a committed hair-shirt wearer myself, I do wonder what I might have been tempted to claim for if working in a culture where having one’s cleaner, gardener and trouser press paid for seemed to be the norm . What I am certain of, is that I would not have claimed for mortgage I didn’t have or for items for home A in March, followed by the same items for home B in May. Neither would I have claimed to be living in a paper bag as my primary residence while my second home was a million pound+ property.

Agree, most of the excesses started with tony blair. after only 6 months in power
I wrote to him to ask why his government were not fulfilling the promises of
their manifesto. i was sent a long defensive reply. After another 6 months nothing
had changed vis-a-vis fulfilling promises, so I wrote again, and amazingly
received (by mistake, I presume) exactly the same letter as I had the first time!
Then I knew that the game was up, and that I had been foolish in voting nulabour
in the first place. Things have gone since from bad to worse. I have been writing
critical letters to nulabour ever since. Lets have Blair’s xs brought into the spotlight! He basically started this spivvy culture. Although Thatcher acted as the
        building block.

Blair was unquestionably the worst PM, and the most cunning and slippery. He kept Brown in his position as Chancellor so that, when he (Blair) finished as PM, Brown’s ruination of the economy would distract from Blair’s own ruination of our national institutions and the destruction of the work ethic on which our working class had depended.

The Media seem obsessed with the BNP, so the underlying message is telling us that we need to vote for a anti-europe party but as people know the BNP are a bunch of socialists then UKIP are the ones gaining from all the attention.

      Churchill's Cattleprod says:

Vote for UKIP and it looks like you’re effectively voting the ‘Angry of Tunbridge Wells’ party. Their policies on immigration and mass deportation appear to be pretty much the same as the BNP. Their policy on juvenile crime appears to hinge around schools bring back the cane and flogging ‘hoodies’, doubling the number of prisons in the UK and building prison ships (presumably to send the hoodies that didn’t get flogged to Australia). They claim to be against ‘thought crime’ yet they state that they will try any British Muslim for treason if that person ‘appears’ to support jihad, as well as “UKIP would make serious physical or verbal attacks on serving British service personnel a treasonable offence”.

Far better that just for once nobody at all turns out to vote. Let us all send the message to these thieving, lying scum, regardless of BNP, UKIP, Liebour, LavaTory or LibDunno, that they belong in prison and not in the EU parliament or in the UK parliament. I would much more enjoy wiping my backside on a £50 note and fluhing it down the loo than give any more of my hard-earned cash to these frauds. At least it would have served a useful purpose.

An observation no more no less. I am sick & tired of our “superiors” imposing their international socialicism upon us to the detrement of the indiginious population. We have created a white underclass in this country as the efforts of Social Services have left them bereft of “service” in order to concentrate on minority groups. We now have a proportion of our younger generation that feels completely disenfranchished with no regard to the values of respect and decency because of the policies of these fuckers.

        Dave Figgley says:

IMHO, mate we depleted the gene-pool 1914-18 and again 1939-45. The country’s destiny was altered beyond all recognition when the blood (and seed) was spilt on the battlegrounds of Europe and beyond.
The essence of what we were, and what we were to become, was drastically altered through those wars.
Take a look at the average punter, mate. Nuff said. Underclass? Yes, in abundance. In defending our freedom, we sacrificed our freedom. It’s taken some decades for the shite to hit the fan but hit the fan it has.
Honour, truth, dignity, humility, integrity have become alien concepts.
I could go on, but I’m quite lazy, son. I sometimes wonder whether this country wouldn’t be in a better state if The Nazis had got their way. Discuss.

The real problem are the hypocritical bastards like Polly Toynbee who think by stealing from the productive part of society to give to the feckless it will cure all our ills. Deluded fuckwits, unfortuntely the British public forget this every twenty years and vote for socialists. That and the demographic shift as more and more wastrels are added and supported by the welfare state.

Unfortunately, the average GP today is little more than a pill-pusher, thanks to the pharmaceutical hegemony; while the average head teacher’s role has changed, in state schools, to box-ticker and form filler. Both of these roles have been sadly reduced, due in large part to an obsessively centralist government – and I speak as a GP married to a (departmental) head teacher. interesting thursday evenings viewing , watching panel on Question Time feel the public anger , watching labour not do anything , watching fake labour drugs wear off people , bit of worry in the machine , labour polling 22% one of which is Lilley Allen “ill vote for gordon” not realising it is the lowest poll ever recorded for labour .

The guff and spin that labour has created finally comming home , the unaccountability , the need for a new committe or enquiry , chucking yet more money on somthing they should be sorting out.

I have some symapthy with notion that an mp should be paid so that it just doesnt allow the rich to carry out , but what about the dynasties , the selection commitiess rigged to get elite family friend in , ime all for getting good people into poltics who can do the job , but should a 19 yrd old benn get in , because she is a benn ??

seen gordons euro election launch “together in the heart of europe” useual generic words , verb plus verb plus noun , he could have made that speech at any point in his premiership , it wouldnt have meant anything , just purile blended , homogenius second rate pap .

i appreciate some may find Andrew Neil a bit like shaving with a stanley no4 plane , but he was the first to talk about the underclass forming , and tonight he almost pinned it , it is precisiely because labour have adopted this spiv spin , way of telling the public everything is alright , when in reality it was failing , the rule of stalin forcing the polit bereaus view on everyone and mind bending 3rd way propoganda .

i recall the post Northern Rock PMQs , cameron “the first time in 140 years that we have had run on bank” , any PM with any sense of the harm he had done would have resigned , but not this bunch of crooks , they them legislate for a life boat for the next tranch of bank failiures , yet not admitting that they had let the banks become greedy for political ends , to cover up the goverments spending by having a turbo charged economy .

having gambled and blown the motor they than come up with the dumbers line of “it was nae me” fooling the public , not telling the truth .

The mps are getting booed because they are having it large whilst they tell us we are going to have it small and then want us to believe it wasnt there fault .

the very least you expect a goverment to do is not bankrupt the country , and if they have an ideological change they should explain it and put it to the country , but labour have forced all this wonk crap on everyone , rigged parliment to become responsible lite , and then they wonder why they are getting booed .

the audience missed mings lame explanation as it got round to “well were not paid that much so we get the extra on expenses” i would call the best pension scheme a nice thing to be in, but they forget that cost .

its expensed politics breeding expensed quangrocracy and public have sussed it , they didnt vote for this hidden agenda , cant really blame them for wanting to put there vote with someone else .

A natural democratic correction is taking place and labour should let it happen , if they dont they will be finished not because of an unliked policy , but because of a hidden one which they thought the public would not see and there utter diesrepect for being honest with the public

What we should do is build up a grass roots campaign and a huge protest, demanding a clean start. A new Parliament with a new approach. Use white as the symbol of the campaign. Aim for three simple things: all the current mob out, an end to the childish behaviours, and an end to the dishonesty (of all kinds). White would be good – we all know what the problems are; everyone would understand what “A Clean Start” means. If you like the idea, repost this comment on two political sites or blogs or news sites and ask people to do the same.

This whole expenses debacle is like watching a car crash crash in ultra slow motion almost too painful to watch as Mps are taken out and metaphorically “put to the sword” by the public and media. Parliamentary business and the process of government is in paralysis at a time when the country faces one of the gravest economic crisis for a generation.,

Surely there can no longer be any argument for not calling a General Election to sanitize and disinfect the putrid stench emanating from Westminster – MPs of all parties have lost their electorates confidence and any mandate they and this Parliament had is fast dwindling away. The country cannot continue as it is for almost another 12 months.,Enough is surely enough. Only an election can assuage the growing public anger.

Brown will not of course call an election voluntarily – after all on these figures he and Labour stand to be wiped out electorally but that is not the point – the very political fabric of this country is being ripped apart piece by piece by piece and cannot continue without doing even more lasting damage.

Those MPs who have been found to have been over-generous in the interpretation of the allowances and expenses rules must face their constituents and face re-selection/de-selection(that includes ALL parties). If re-selected they must then fight an election to regain a mandate to govern from the country. This process needs to start now and be finalised by October when Brown or whoever is Prime Minister then must seek a Dissolution – until all this is done the affair will not be concluded and further MPs and Ministers will be forced to fall on their own swords or resign.

I regret to say that there is now no other solution available to our elected representatives that will placate the public’s anger

Theresa May: mistaken for the star of ‘Lady Lust’

Theresa May, the education spokeswoman for the Conservative party, has spoken of the confusion sometimes caused by sharing a name with a porn star.

The politician, with a Home Counties constituency and a ‘county lady’ dress sense, has revealed that she has received invitations that were intended for a namesake – Teresa May, a ‘glamour model’ and dancer.

Steamy late-night chat shows, hoping to find the glamour model have invited the education secretary onto their programmes.

“We do get telephone calls from time to time from people wanting to book me to do programmes and so forth, which are perhaps not about politics, let me put it like that,” Theresa May told BBC Radio 4′s Today programme.

Among the channels mistakenly seeking an interview was Granada Men and Motors, said the MP, which had featured her namesake in ‘Lady Lust’, with Teresa May playing a nightclub hostess.

Although their first names have different spellings, the politician says that she has raised expectations among those assuming she is the other Ms May.

“It does also cause other problems. For example when my assistant left a pager message once for somebody to telephone me, the pager operator did get very excited as to who it might be,” said Theresa May.

Apart from the variation in spelling, the member of parliament for Maidenhead says that there are other ways in which they might be distinguished.

“I have a suspicion that if people saw us together there might be other distinguishing characteristics,” said the politician.

However, Theresa May said she was not judgemental about the career choice of her namesake.

“As far as I’m concerned it’s her life and she chooses to to earn her living in the way that she does. She may think it’s slightly strange that some people might like to earn their living as a politician.”

    Minekiller says:

The Polls this morning are fascinating, but pretty predictable given what has happened. Dan (the man) Hannan’s blog piece this morning makes interesting reading too.

The Euro election will be of great importance to the UK, perhaps one of our most important elections since 1945 – because as I see it,a two part election is to be fought out between June 4th 2009 and May 2010, provided MacDoom hasn’t come up with a suitable terror threat to suspend elections indefinitely, using the Civil Contingencies Act.

Part One is the European Elections on 4th June. This is the referendum on the European Constitution, sorry – the Lisbon Treaty. This is where the people of the UK, especially England, can decide now if they want to begin the process of recovering their sovereignty, laws, borders, fishing grounds and agricultural industries back from unaudited and corrupted Brussels. So protest voting against Labour is vital, voting for the Tories and UKIP is vital (despite cross party expense scandals), voting for the Greens is a strong pro-Europe socialist vote and voting for the BNP is well, desperate.

If the marker is not put down now and are Europhile politcal class put on notice that – among other things, we know that the corruption of our political classes was accleerated by Brussels as much as anything else (the “They’re all at it in Europe” defence) and that for the sake of our democracy and the country a withdrawal from the EU is not just desirable but essential. The Tories need this message sent to them too, en clair.

This is important because we must remind ourselves of the good old club rule that is enacted after every General Election in the UK, when the incoming government are generous and kind to their defeated opponents by giving them tickets on the Euro gravy train. Since 80% of our legislation is now made in Brussels, who in their right mind would elevate the likes of Balls, Cooper, Smith, Mandelson (OK, been there) and any of the rotten crew from a parliament that makes only 20% of our legislation – and completely buggers that up -to a commission which makes 80%. So come election night when the Portillo moments arrive in numbers, they won’t be too disappointed unless of course, something is done to put an end to it. That solution is to leave the EU. Simple, no ifs no buts. People will not believe the Euro-propaganda anymore, the EU has been a disaster for the UK.

Part two: since the Euro election should already begin to redefine the UKs relationship with Brussels – and the parties in the UK, the Augean reform should begin. In other words Parliament has then 11 months to clean up its act, sack and have prosecuted the worst offenders. The Tories should handsomely win the GE, with an overall majority around a 120 seat minimum. Cameron than has a probationary period of five years to restore the UK financially, socially, politically and culturally. But as this expense scandal has showed, a new breed of non-careerist politician is required – and step one will be to remove the temptation- that means leaving Brussels.

    City of Vice says:

The good thing about this scandal is that it has totally discredited the shills and so called experts in the MSM who’ve been colluding with the lying whores at Westminster for years. These bastards were literally giving air cover to Brown and his crew as he ruined the country’s finances and the people’s rights, while MPs filled their boots. Sir Michael Shite, Steve Dickhards, Potty Polly, and Toenails Robinson – who really gives credence to anything these shoddy salesmen say now.

There are plenty of minority candidates to vote for. Greens, Jury Team, Monster Raving Loony (are they fielding candidates for the Euro elections?), UKIP (although they’re at it just as much as the big parties), and a good smattering of independents. If everyone who thought like you voted for one of the minority parties (it doesn’t matter which one, just get out and vote), that would really teach the big parties a serious lesson.

The ‘Bible’ Green book lays it down.

These are the key questions that EVERY interviewer should be asking of every MP: Did your claim take into account the following -

‘Claims should be above reproach and must reflect actual usage
    of the resources being claimed.’

‘The requirement of ensuring value for money is central in
claiming for accommodation, goods or services – Members
should avoid purchases which could be seen as extravagant
    or luxurious.’

‘Could the claim in any way damage the reputation of
    Parliament or its Members?’

‘How comfortable do I feel with the knowledge that my claim
will be available to the public under Freedom of Information?’

It took me 2 minutes to find this on the net – can no interviewer find it?

Make poverty history, remember that slogan? and featured even in an episode of the “Vicar of Dibley”. I’m sure all the money that Blair and his wife are now amassing is going to go to make poverty history in Africa. Empty slogans , empty gestures.

But any way, I wonder what the little people in their constituencies think of that? Are you out of work now and can’t find a job to support your family? Having trouble paying your mortgage? Not quite the same, the “others” did not claim to be the peoples “friend” while systematically stealing from them, the “others” did not ponificate endlessly about their moral superiority on all matters “caring” while corrupting, debasing and politisising everything, the “others” did not pretend to be the protectorate of the working class, while at the same time betraying them completely.

I believe and hope that others will do the same and I do not like the line that is being trotted out that people will fail to turn out and vote. I think that they would rather people did not vote than go out and vote for UKIP or BNP as this would be such a spectacular rejection of their policies of the last 12 years. UKIP is itself vulnerable on the issue of politicians’ expenses, given that Ashley Mote, a UKIP MEP, was imprisoned in 2007 for falsely claiming £65,000 in welfare benefits. Last month another UKIP MEP, Tom Wise, was charged with false accounting and money laundering over allegations that he misused nearly £40,000 in expenses.

UKIP is an establishment construct – a safety-valve party, designed to absorb the anti-EU votes away from the B NP.
Although the grass-roots members have good intentions, the fact that the clueless and useless Farage and his cohorts in Bruxelles have gone native – even to the extent that they receive funding from the very organisation they purportedly oppose – and the fact that they have been rumbled by the electorate, often receiving just single or double figure votes at by-elections, it is time they wound up their operation, if only to give them some credibility for their belated honesty at being a wasted vote.
Good Riddance. Watch for the Greens being positioned to replace them.
As for ‘the false smile of the B NP’ – with the state of the nation as it is, they are not smiling but are angry that this nation-destroying government, ably assisted by the treasonous, EUrophilic Tories, LibDems and UKIP, are at war with their own people and we should look much closer to Westminster and Brussells to see who the real Nazis are.
    All the evidence is there.
The EU Constitreaty gives any aspiring despot more powers than Hitler got from his Enabling Act and, hidden in a footnote of footnote in there, the EU State can legally execute its citizens.

Letwin’s pipe HAD to be fixed. If he hadn’t claimed it on his expenses, then he would have HAD to pay it out of his own pocket. Ditto with Hogg (I’m trying to pick the most outrageous Tory claims here).

I’m sure Hogg spends a good amount of his own money (on top of his claims) maintaining his second home.

    Dear Mr Malik

I read the article in today’s Telegraph and listened to you on the Today programme. I am fascinated to know why a 40″ plasma TV costing £2100 and a Cinema system are necessary to enable you to stay in your second home, I get by very well with a 28″ TV that cost £499 that receives the Parliament channel perfectly well so can see no reason at all why the taxpayer should have contributed one penny To quote the Green Book. “Only those costs wholly, exclusively and necessarily incurred to enable you to stay overnight away from your only or main UK residence, either in London or in the constituency.”

Likewise your main home in Dewsbury; does Paul or anyone else other than yourself live in your main home during the week and if you don’t pay £100 a week for the house how much do you pay? Don’t just deny the Telegraph guess produce a copy of the rental agreement and while you are at it produce bills for groceries and other expenses brought in during the Parliamentary recess to prove to the Telegraph that Dewsbury is indeed your main home.

I look forward to your reply with the relevant facts.

How are they cosy to them? Not arguing, just want some links/info? I would have thought the major party leaders would all have a heart attack if UKIP won? Am I wrong?

All I really care about is getting out of the EU and I’ve decided I’ll vote next month in whatever way will help that most. I would have thought that was UKIP but people keep suggesting otherwise…? Confused!

        Ken Worthy says:

The main benefit of a UKIP success in the European elections will be to increase the pressure on the Tories to take action to reduce the control the EU already has over us, not just talk about it. A referendum on Lisbon would be a good start.
If the politicians won’t give us a referendum on Lisbon, we can give them one. Make the European elections our referendum. Look carefully at what the various parties say about whether they would hold a referendum on Lisbon, and vote accordingly. Show the politicians what we think of the EU.

      Reimer says:

Rather convenient how UKIP’s profile suddenly rose on the BBC last week just as all this belated outrage at the Political Class was being loaded into the VT machine at television centre. They’ve already had 5 years with a good few MEPs to little discernible benefit to the country they ostensibly want to prise from the grip of Euro-communism and Post-Marxism.

Just listened to some Zanulabour twat describe UKIP as an ‘extremist’ party on that bastion of impartial broadcasting the BBC. This from a party that wants to ID card us and take our DNA for overfilling our bins all at the behest of their masters the EU.

Fuck Zanulabour and fuck the EU double. I am voting for those nasty extremists UKIP.

    Phoenix One UK says:

I visited your site a few times and thought it time I said hi. But I guess I best comment on topic.

I will be voting UKIP because I see them as our best chance to influence getting a Referendum on EU to get us out of the EU. Cameron has already started beating the same drum but does not go far enough, but the people can, and are, changing that.

We need to regain control of UK from EU, we need to regain our voice in Parliament and remind politicians they work for the people and not the other way round, and politicians need to be held to account. When elected into office they are elected to be the peoples voice not to deny the people their voice or abuse elected powers to further their own abitions and hidden agendas.

    Regards
