Journalists Heckled and Questions Banned at Labour Venezuela Event

Labour conference heard a message of solidarity from the Venezuelan ambassador last night before top Corbynista Chris Williamson went full shouty crackers. Williamson awkwardly singled out Nick Cohen and Michael Crick, calling out their names at least fifteen times and wildly demanding to know why they weren’t “celebrating” Venezuela. As wide-eyed Williamson went Caracas, Cohen asked if the journalists under attack could ask questions. John McDonnell’s PPS Karen Lee shouted “No”. Cohen asked again: “We can’t ask questions?”, to which Lee replied: “Absolutely not”. All a bit odd and embarrassing for Williamson really, journalists were left wondering if he’s all there…

Corbynistas Reach For Trump Playbook

WikiGuido discussed Labour’s latest anti-Semitism problems on the Daily Politics with Corbynista journalist Aaron Bastani, who reckoned it was all fake news from the “rigged” media. Bit Trumpian, Aaron…

Pictured: Corbyn’s Late Night Speech Prep

Spotted late last night: Corbyn practising his speech in the main conference hall. At 9.30pm he was still hard at it, reciting long segments and adjusting his delivery to get everything pitch perfect. Guido’s listening ear heard this line:

“We must respect the Brexit vote…”

Guido agrees with Jez…

Stop the War Side With North Korea

The Stop the War fringe event at Labour conference is always a laugh. Last night Corbyn aide Andrew Murray, who has previously expressed open support for North Korea, gave this absolutely textbook example of the “Stop the War but”:

“Now North Korea’s own conduct is often provocative and belligerent, I don’t defend its rhetoric, but this is a country which perhaps has learned the lesson from the Iraq War, that Iraq got invaded when it did not have weapons of mass destruction. So being threatened continually by the Americans you go out and you get them.”

Stop the War veteran Lindsey German then argued North Korea gets unfair treatment compared with other countries:

“I don’t agree with what Kim Jong Un is doing but let’s face it, the North Koreans are testing some missiles most weeks, the Americans test something like a thousand missiles a year, the Indians and Pakistanis test nuclear weapons, nobody puts sanctions on them, nobody threatens them with war… The war in Korea which went on for three years was devastating for the people of North Korea. They had absolutely no targets left to hit because they destroyed every single town in that part of the country. They deliberately targeted dams so that they would flood the rice fields and they would therefore starve the population. This is the record of America in Korea, and they wonder why people might be a little bit suspicious.”

“I don’t agree with Kim Jong Un, but…”

Labour Enlist Communist to Prepare For Run on Pound If Corbyn Wins

John McDonnell admitted last night that there could be a run on the pound if Labour wins the next general election and Jeremy Corbyn becomes Prime Minister:

“What happens if there is a run on the pound? I don’t think there will, but you never know, so we’ve got the scenario plan for that… people will want to know we are ready and they want to know we’ve got a response to everything that could happen.”

Labour are war gaming what to do if there is a run on the pound – the plans are being undertaken by the Corbynista digital guru Richard Barbrook, who readers will remember supported the IRA’s armed struggle. He calls himself a “cybernetic communist” and wrote the book on “Cyber-Communism”. Sure that’ll calm anyone’s worries…

Equality Chief: Labour Must Prove It’s Not a Racist Party

Silence from the Labour leadership following their latest conference anti-Semitism crisis. The chief of the Equality and Human Rights Commission Rebecca Hilsenrath says they are in danger of being seen as a racist party:

“Anti-Semitism is racism and the Labour Party needs to do more to establish that it is not a racist party. A zero tolerance approach to anti-Semitism should mean just that. When senior party figures are saying there is a problem then the leadership should take swift action. It is not acceptable to simply say they oppose these views. These comments by party members show more needs to be done to root out anti-Semitic views that clearly exist in the party. Any suggestion of kicking people out of any political party on the grounds of race or religion should be condemned.”

Labour are being blasted by the Equality and Human Rights Commission and still Jez is silent…
