This morning Rachel Reeves told the pool:
“Leaks are not acceptable. But people only have to wait a week now until I deliver my Budget on Wednesday November 26.”
This is the Chancellor who has presided over almost every possible tax rise being flown as a kite, gave a speech warning Income Tax would rise, panicked after it was leaked that it would not rise, briefed the entirety of the OBR’s forecasts, and let it be known that Income Tax thresholds would not be reduced but would be frozen. That’s barely the half of the briefings that have come out of Reeves’s Treasury…
The day after Starmer U-turned and refused to blame Trump for the war Rachel Reeves told the Mirror:
“Obviously no sensible person is a supporter of the Iranian regime, but to start a conflict without being clear what the objectives are and not being clear about how you are going to get out of it, I do think that is a folly and it is one that is affecting families here in the UK but also families in the US and around the world.”
