Leaked audio of shadow justice secretary Robert Jenrick addressing a UCL Tory association dinner late last month has made its way to Sky News’ Sam Coates. In which Jenrick describes the Tories and Reform with the ‘C’ word…
The key quotes:
A source close to Jenrick says: “Rob’s comments are about voters and not parties.” While messaging from LOTO has been fairly confused when it comes to electoral dealings with Farage’s outfit this is the strongest rhetoric yet from the frontbench on the matter. Badenoch may have a view on the strident words…
UPDATE: Kemi’s spokesman has now said that she actually agrees with Jenrick on this:
“She agrees that we need to bring centre-right voters together to defeat Labour. What we saw last year was four million people voting for Reform, and they got five MPs and Labour got 400. So if we are to defeat Labour, we need to bring those voters back to the Conservative Party.”
More fudge on any deal from the Tories…
Former leader of the SNP in Westminster Ian Blackford told Times Radio why he believes Nicola Sturgeon’s claim that she spent no time in the kitchen and therefore didn’t see any of her husband’s purchases:
“She doesn’t have a passion for cooking.”
