An ex-LibDem staffer is suing the party “for discrimination, harassment, and victimisation” after being fired after only three days in the job. 24-year-old Amelia Sparrow alleges that she was dismissed by LibDem MP after being reported for saying Human Rights Committee chairman Joanna Cherry was a “women’s rights activist” instead of a “transphobe“. Sparrow says that once her MP caught wind of this they promised to ‘do some digging’ and quickly let her go…
The complaint against her apparently came from the Chief Whip’s office. Sparrow is currently fundraising for an employment tribunal case against the MP and the party. She says she is fighting “to oppose the intolerance and illiberalism” and is “aware of others in the Liberal Democrat Party – and in other political parties – that share my views that have also been subject to intolerant and illiberal behaviour or are themselves too afraid to speak out for fear of being subject to the same treatment.” A LibDem spokesman tells Guido: “We dispute this crowdjustice description and hope it will be resolved soon.” It looks like the glove of enforced belief is in firm grip of “progressive” parties…
Speaking at his speech on how to achieve “progressive capitalism” Wes Streeting fired a dig and Andy Burnham:
“Bond markets are not bond villains and fiscal rules matter.”
