Victoria Atkins Picks Apart “Odd” Behaviour from Labour and Rayner

It is now 18 days since Angela Rayner has appeared in front of a camera. The police are investigating “whether any offences have been committed”, with most commentators focusing on the electoral roll aspect. Health Secretary Victoria Atkins – a former barrister specialising in fraud – took the opportunity yesterday to note the many oddities in the Rayner scandal:

“I think it is very odd that Starmer as leader of the Labour Party has not bothered to look at the legal advice that she was apparently given ahead of her tax return being filled in. I think it’s very odd that the Shadow Chancellor has only this week been talking about how determined she is to to tackle tax dodging and these questions are hanging around for Angela to answer, and I think it’s very odd that given what Angela has said in the past about other politicians, why she is not holding herself up to those same high standards?”

Why indeed?
