Corbyn Ally Threatens ‘Street Violence’ If He Loses Leadership Election

It’s all kicking off in Venezuela, where President Nicolas Maduro is “promising street violence” if he loses power in the country’s upcoming elections. Charming.

Its currency is “entering free fall mode” according to the FT, losing 43% of its value in the last month. As food shortages engulf the socialist paradise, producers of milk, pasta, oil, rice, sugar and flour have been ordered to hand over as much as 100% of their produce to nationalised supermarkets. How is Maduro trying to boost his popularity? By making thinly veiled military threats to neighbouring Guyana.

Not that you’ll find any of that on Jeremy Corbyn’s campaign website. “Success for radical policies in Venezuela is being achieved by providing for the poorest, liberating resources, but above all by popular education and involvement,” Jezza writes among his pitch for the leadership. Only last month he attended a rally calling for “solidarity” with the Maduro regime. Hala Jez!

Quote of the Day

Paul Goodman as sagacious as ever on Arron’s entryism…

“… one must watch for former UKIP donors and a very few left-of-Party-centre MPs propping each other up, like drunks at the end of a pub crawl. It suits the former to claim the power to organise a programme of mass infiltration. It suits the latter to react by complaining about extremist entryism. The rest of us should keep a cool head.”
