Who Will Take Eric Forth’s Place?

Not in his Bromley & Chislehurst constituency, in parliament, as the stalwart opponent of excessive legislation and over-regulation. Today is the day for someone to do what Eric would have done and block David Taylor’s Ten minute rule motion: Fire Safety (Reduced Ignition Propensity in Cigarettes) Bill. Yes, a bill in the name of safety to make it difficult to light your fags. Don’tcha just hate Safety Nazis, sheltering behind “for the kids” type excuses.

Is there not a single parliamentarian willing to don the politico-philosophical waistcoat of libertarian obstinacy once worn by Eric Forth MP?

Do it for Eric, it is what he would have wanted.

Quote of the Day

Councillor John Thomas, Keith Vaz’s Leicester East Constituency Labour Party Chairman says…

“This is great disappointment to me, realising that I have spent over 30 years of my life working for a party that I now know that I have nothing in common with. This is not the party I joined, the party for decent working people. I can no longer follow the clown that leads the Labour Party, he is heavily influenced by the Trotskyite Len McCluskey and is now as the Hoki Coki leader, in out, and shake it all about he has turned this great party into a laughing stock.”
