Presumably that means Brand will be giving up his:

Perhaps he could donate it all to foodbanks instead? Hypocrites of the world, unite…

It says a lot about their own insight into the weakness of their theories.

And it is also interesting how free marketeers and hyper capitalists have managed to conflate capitalism with wealth creation.

that’s their greatest trick of all. Deconstruct that and they’re f*cked.

Possibly because they are synonyms. Comparative advantage and then keeping the fruits of your time is the basis of wealth creation.

Anti-capitalism is the basis of wealth destruction. Whether rent-seekers like brand, or more direct forms of extortion.

There are two types of socialist:

1 Labour’s true client state, trapped in the benefits system created by Blair and Brown, moaning on about having no job or money and blaming everyone but themselves, but secretly knowing they are better off on benefits, so voting for the party they know will keep them in the idle lifestyle to which they have become accustomed

2 spoilt rich kids who are immune from the realities of socialism because they have plenty of cash. Curiously they never feel they should redistribute their wealth according to their lefty principles

Weird that Guido is so fucking obsessed with Brand that he follows his Twitter feed and spends time researching Brand’s income and wealth. Jealous? Much?
Fact is, love him or hate him, Brand can connect with thousands more people than the fat camp self hating paddy Tory cocksucker who runs this blog. Far from being loony left Brand does not seem to side with any of the scum that Guido has spent his life sponging a living off of. One does wonder why Guido is so infatuated with Brand, maybe Guido has a little crush on Rusty?
One also has to wonder as to why an overweight, weird looking, obviously closeted Irishman would be so obsessed with a BRITISH parliament’s daily activities? We all know that Ireland’s political world is basically an episode of Father Ted but with more child abuse, guns and heroin so why doesn’t the fat mick turn his limp wristed attention to that.

It sounds such a ringing plea for justice, until you ask exactly how it would work.
If you want to retire early, but have a socially-useful skill, by the logic of the phrase you shouldn’t be allowed to.
Shaw put it more brutally:’Compulsory labour, with death as the final penalty, is the key- stone of Socialism.”
Some might argue that ‘Arbeit Macht Frei’ is where the idea ends up.

Curiously, the phrase is first used in English by William Morris, who didn’t speak German but did know Engels. His defenders would say it’s a plea for education and opportunity, not for compulsion.

Morris, who described himself as a Marxist Communist, never renounced the inherited mining wealth that gave him his start, though he toyed with the idea; nor did he leave it to the Movement (though he spent much of it on political activity) , but to his family, to the dudgeon of some who admired him.

Tony Benn left his Holland Park mansion to his children who are all grown up and have their own homes. Why not offer it to a low income family at an affordable rent? Polly has a villa in Tuscany. Why not treat some underprivileged children to a holiday staying at the villa? Owen Jones makes more than enough money to have expendable income, which contravenes Marx’s declaration that wages should be subsistence only. Why not donate all his expendable income to people who use food banks? And Russell Brand has enough millions in the bank. Why not use his wealth to help hundreds of thousands of people living in poverty? Utter fucking hypocrites.
