they cheer on people being done for small amounts of benefit fraud yet they are in to us all for £10,000s and still turning up for work and getting paid.

imagine if any of us had our hand in the till at work, we’d be out the door in minutes, not on a nice ‘repayment plan’.

    tossers.

This is a criminal infringement of MP’s rights. By the way, I paid mine back as soon as I was caught out fiddling my mortgage payments and I was let off. Boaz.

We would also have plod knocking on our doors and taking us down to the station for charging. If we paid it back or not.

The only way to end the parasites sordid behaviour, is to make the laws we have to live by, applicable to Members of Parliament.

Out of interest, if an MP loses money when they sell a second home financed by a tax-payer funded mortgage, can they reclaim that money? Or is the risk entirely on one side?

So long as they can keep on claiming 100% of their mortgage payments there is no incentive to sell at a loss, so they will just hang on until the market turns or sell their original non-taxpayer funded first house and move into the second one.

Would it not be better if an MP actually lived in the constituency he represents at his own cost and the taxpayer provided him (if required) a flat in Londonistan for his term of office for use when he is away from home?

Vote Tory, get heir to Blair says:

I bet he will promise a woolly (as in pulling-the-wool-over-our-eyes) Referendum on whether we should try to renegotiate the terms of our membership. In other words we will not get an In/Out referendum that the vast majority of the country is crying out for.

Give them 90 days to pay in full what they owe, if not disqualify them

there were the former MPs. They of course would be prevented from

contesting the seat & would be subject to debt proceedings through

    You don’t sell. Never sell.
You take out 110% mortgages on the second home. Use that cash for deposits to buy more property for buy to lets.

Guido. Not a mathematician, but checking columns M, N and O would suggest many dragging their feet in completing repayment have been granted an extension until an end of years date [ 3- 4 days] before extra interest or punitive measures will be taken.
Does Burnham’s end of repayment date plan [column M]- 11/1/2013 and start date / end date of claims, [columns N and O] suggest an extra interest free period???
