Where Have All the LibDem Women Gone?

20130226-083807.jpg Despite what LibDems might want us to believe, the most important part of the Rennard scandal is not Nick Clegg or Eastleigh, but the women who have made the allegations against the sex pest peer. The response of the party’s female MPs has been non-existent. What Jo Swinson knew and when is at the heart of this story, she was in the chamber yeaterday but said nothing. Where is Lynne Featherstone? Jenny Wilnot might have just had a baby but why has careerist Sarah Teather been so quiet? Their silence speaks volumes…

These sorts of scandals highlight the fact that only Hand Maidens get on in politics. They do as they’re told, and like the Old Boys Network, they keep it schtum to protect their male masters. The only female in politics who wasn’t a Hand Maiden was Margaret Thatcher. No wonder the Cave Beast club and their servant girls still froth at the mouth about her today. DEATH TO CAVE BEASTS!

They didn’t want to play with Rennard, and now they don’t want to play with Guido and the media scrum.

If they’ve waited all these years, they can wait another few days, by which time the scrum will all have completely lost interest in LibDem women.

The promotion of quangocrats, incompetent ministers, buying off the awkward questioner, the bullying of staff, the smearing of families who complained about the uncaring culture of that NHS hospital is a bigger story which has an impact on you, me, and our friends and relatives.

But in the warped MSM Lord Rennard of Hands is a bigger danger to all of us. The get Clegg out narrative, and fuck up the Coalition is more important than the failings of the NHS’ dance of death.

    Rambling Sid Rumpole says:

It probably is, maybe not the Cons themselves but their press backers, NI (Geedo’s masters), Telegraph, Mail, it has apparently been known for years, Geedo regularily put out a post about him, and the others knew about it, is it just because of the Eastliegh bye eletion and the realisation that Eastliegh would not be the walkover they originally thought it would be.

  70. 70

  73. 73
    Winter of Discontent says:

There was real disquiet among the Brent Lib Dems in 2003 when they had their own clear choice of candidate for the by-election – a well-rooted, hard-working local councillor who was young, charismatic, funny, and extremely smart. But he was a man.

Rennard personally intervened, insisting that it MUST be a woman candidate, and he introduced them to some bright young thing he’d just picked up from Islington, Sarah Teather (though until the 2003 by-election came up, he had been trying to parachute her in to the target seat of Taunton, which Jeremy Browne eventually won in 2005). Teather owes her entire political career to Rennard’s philanthropic assistance. Make of that what you will.

  74. 74

…. Apart from Paddy. And now he’s back, helping out at Eastleigh, in: The Sperminator2 – this time it’s Personnel!

  75. 75

  76. 76

They could always get loads of “police” in the same way they did in the miners strike, at least those they have not made redundant

  86. 86

Exactly. Without the original sin which of course is a Lib Dem sin, there is no problem. But it is not coincidence that it has surfaced just before Eastleigh. Both tory and labour have been aware of the Rennard situation for ages but there has not been enough potential advantage in releasing it until now.

  87. 87
    Tom James says:

Swinson has basically tweeted every day forever (except Christmas and New Year) until Thursday, 21st February, since when she hasn’t said a thing – https://twitter.com/joswinson

I find it ironic that the man who got 23% of the Italian vote cannot stand because he has a criminal record – manslaughter charge in a car incident with friends.
Rennard is of far worse ilk and is it very likely that the top brass of the Limp Dims did not know chapter and verse of his groping activities, but ignored it as he was assisting them overcome their incompetence?

  92. 92

Tangential to the Br!scoe piece, the Rennard issue is really small fry considering what goes on in the legal fraternity as per this Legal Cheek article:

    http://tinyurl.com/aj9pyl6

The only reason the para-legal shacked up with the QC displacing the judge was to get pupillage, a pre-req for advancing her career. This is common practice, yet not reported on by C4 as it clearly parallels what goes on at party conferences and is in many ways more insidious.

George Galloway says of his former Respect candidate the UKIP MEP turned Tory, Amjad Bashir…

“Clearly Bashir does not have any real political principles or commitment, only naked opportunism and self-interest. He represents the revolving door principle in politics. The Tories are welcome to him because he will cause them embarrassment. Fortunately Respect was able to act before he did it to us.”
