Burnham PPS Porky Pie Blooper

Still no apology from Debbie Abrahams following her Eoin Clarke-inspired question to the PM. Andy Burnham’s PPS claimed that Virgin Care was a donor to the Tory party and that it had shareholders on clinical commissioning group boards, allegations Clarke has had to issue a grovelling apology for. With Abrahams ignoring the subject on twitter and elsewhere, a co-conspirator got in touch last night to point Guido towards a tweet from two days ago:

Telling NHS porky pies even when presented with the facts? Talk about eating your words…

I’m a lot less depressed than I was yesterday. It’s a pity I’ll have to stick a pencil up my nose from time to time over the next couple of years but it’s better than the Big House.

I am glad you are feeling better today Margaret. I noticed the trial aged you considerably. But fortunately that trip to the pub, revitalised you immeasurably. Careful with the pencils though as damaging your only braincell could be harmful.

Good luck Margaret, you are inspirational. If I ever get fingered, I will use the ‘Moran’ defence. Boaz.
