LibDems Pasty Leaflet Lies
With the LibDems voting for the pasty tax last night, this leaflet from a west country by-election is looking a little shaky….
UPDATE:
Great hit by Angela Eagle, holds up Lib Dem Cornish leaflet 'Stop the Tories taxing our pasties'. LD votes passed the pasty tax—
Paul Waugh (@paulwaugh) April 19, 2012

They all lie, keeps blogs like this in Buisness!
“A CONSERVATIVE party member has been elected to Truro City Council.
Adam Desmonde won the contest in the by-election in Truro’s Boscawen ward.
Mr Desmonde took the seat with 479 votes with Joseph Swain, Liberal Democrat, in second place with 273 votes and Hanna Toms of the Labour Party third with 246 votes.
The by-election was held following the death of long-serving councillor Jennifer Hosken.
The turnout for the election on March 29 was 20.8%.

Annihilated.
Lib Dem = hypocrite.
We all know this.
What you have to remember is that the Lib Dems didnt win that election so their manifesto pledges becomes null & void
LIB-LAB-CON.
State sponsored Lackies. The State over pay them with TAX PAYERS MONEY. To KEEP their Mouths SHUT. That is politics today. Shame they hadn’t listened to the ANTI WAR MOB, we might not have been saddled with as much DEBT.
20% turnout – just like council elections all over the country.
And on the back of this piffling couple of hundred votes, these no-marks end up receiving £000s in expenses and other perks (not to mention the innumerable back-hander opportunities) despite the fact that almost nobody in the areas they’re supposed to ‘represent’ knows who they are.
Totally untrue. There are thousands of Parish, Town and in this case City Councillors who do not get allowances and serve their communities on a voluntary basis. Like I do.
+1 Correct Bob. Some people are confusing councillors with the corruption and troughing opulence of being an MP.
A rough calculation shows that the winner only got 10% of the vote. 90% of the electorate did not actually vote for him. There are military juntas with better democratic credentials. Surely it is time that the rules were changed to make an election void unless more than 50% turn out?
Good idea. Not forcing anyone to vote, but recognising democratic accountability nonetheless.
You’re fired!
Even Labour Luvvies are coming out against Ken.
Ken will soon have lots of time to spend with his accountant and private medical staff.
Regarding which, Ken is quoted as saying;
‘…I went for my annual medical and the doctor almost had an orgasm…’
Which, Ken, is why you pay extra for private health care. When I have my prostate check-up on the NHS, all I get is a rusty finger!
Shaky? Or Flaky?
What are those 4 rectangles on the left for?
Bigot.
Cornish Flag
Flag of Saint Piran the patron saint of tinners.
The patron saint of Cornwall is St Michael.
Did you listen to costing the Earth last week? They want to re-open South Crofty.
He’s obviously a Cornish Lib Dem – lead by Andrew George. They (he) voted against didnt they
Has news reached Cornwall that the Lib Dems are actually in government
Looks like the Lib Dem Truro candidate is more Cock than Swain
All that needs to happen is for the film “Straw Dogs” (Dustin Hoffman, Susan George) to be shown for people to realise what Cornwall is like.
Nice place to take the kids on holiday, hellish to live in with that level of backwardness.
Fair play to Truro, they appear to be ahead of the rest of the country holding their elections on the 5th April
We should all admit we did a Theresa May and acted on prima facie evidence without checking the real fact that Truro’s pastie saviour was stuffed two weeks ago.
Is that Baden Powell?
It certainly does look like him. I wonder if, like BP, he takes snaps of hangings.
“Labour care more about sausage rolls”
Genius. This man deserves a comedy award.
It should read “Sausages and the Rolls”
Definition of Mandelson.
I like pasties
Large ones.
Oh dear.
Interesting lead policy here, he could be onto something.
Whats the UKIP’s policy on pastry based products? (Obviously excluding croissants and the like)
I like samosas
+1
I wasn’t all that thrilled with Somoza, though.

Since the pasty tax is an E.U.S.S.R. tax it’s simple.
Thats not entirely true, some countries ignore vat rules.
The problem is that our civil service likes EU legislation, it provides them with work, a lot of work.
With friends like the LibDems who needs enemies?
You mean enemas right?
Did someone mention pasties?
I saw Angela Eagle waving that leaflet around. What I want to know is why such a rough looking bloke is called Angela.
Search me.
I’ll search you both if you like.
There is no way thats going in my ……………..
Don’t forget Jonnie Cash’s “Boy named Sue”
Andrew Eagle – friend of Diane Dare
The daft thing is. This will not affect poper job Cornish pasties and only the tat that Tesco, Asda and Morrions sell.
Most Cornish pasties are full of shit anyway.
I was under the impression that pasties that have come out of an oven in a bakery, and are cooling down, stay zero rated.
The urgent question for Tersa May, brought by labour, was nothing to do with Abu whatshisname. It was just petty spitefulness from Yvette Cooper and labour.
For fuck’s sake what have labour done about Abu over 8 years when they were in government. Do labour want to keep Abu in this country? It fucking well seems that way.
Yvette Cooper is just a spiteful shit. Labour are worthless scum.
You are talking about the woman who thinks she saved the world economy by stopping the short selling of banking shares on the FTSE 100.
I tell you she is deranged.
Cooper, who thinks that May has an obligation to know the answer to everything, but when asked was unable to remember which was her main residence for Capital Gains Tax purposes. Tax Dodger
She and Balls deserve each other.
What an incredibly stupid woman Cooper is, her actions repeatedly confirm her reputation as a most unpleasant person.
She has more front than Blackpool (sorry Blackpool, no offence.) Shameless.
What was with the big boots yesterday, do her tootsies get cold in the HOC.
Those who have campaigned against the LibDems know this approach to be normal. Now they are in the coalition the press and the voters are noticing, but the media is unacceptably forgiving.
Everybody in Parliament lies. Osborne had no choice – the ‘pasty tax’ is an EU Directive that every member state must implement. The problem is that the electorate and MSM just don’t get it, and MPs, with a vested interest in appearing to have more power than actuality, never explain this. The fact is that the UK is no longer a sovereign state democracy and VAT is an EU tax.
New store for Penryn pasty lovers
“Councillor Ted Wilkes added: “When they are cooking down the bottom you don’t smell any smells.”
http://www.falmouthpacket.co.uk/news/9656192.New_store_for_Penryn_pasty_lovers/r/?ref=rss
It’s a shame they record The News Quiz today, Councillor Wilkes’ quote would have been a certainty for it.
“Ken Livingstone admits using private healthcare” Telegraph.co.uk
Come off it Ken, throw in the towel man. Jack it in before someone finds out your a multi-billionaire with a Ku-Klux-Klan fetish.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/london-mayor-election/9213439/Ken-Livingstone-admits-using-private-healthcare.html
Lib Dems lost this vote. Their policies leaver a sour taste and their councillors are stale and crusty.
I have never trusted Liberals.
It’s only fur.
Another bit of sleight of hand was on the Labour election broadcast. The medical man and broadcaster Robert Winston was captioned “Professor Robert Winston” and described himself as being someone who wouldn’t normally dream of appearing in a party broadcast for any party “although I do support Labour values”. It might have been more honest to have said upfront that he is Lord Winston, a Labour peer.
Cornwall isn’t the west country.
‘Tis.
Having been on the piss in pubs with builders, carpenters and other assorted locals this week – I can confirm the ONLY Westminster topic that has cut through is “Pasty tax”
There is, however, a single policy that government could reverse which would be very popular – and that is to reverse the smoking ban. Until such time the locals will continue to shiver and freeze in windswept smoking shacks, whilst cozy roaring fires burn needlessly indoors and people’s dignity will still be trashed as they are forced outside like dogs into kennels.
No politician would want to upset the EU though would they?
So give up yer fags for the night and get a nicotine patch stuck on. No imagination west of Newton Abbot is there?
No it isn’t. Rockall is.
When we gain our independence on Burns Night 2014 I confidently predict we will rid the country of all Liberals.
How could the Lib Dems, our coalition partners, vote for the pasty tax? Shame on them. Perhaps they are too busy stuffing their faces with Gilbert’s Hot Caviar … no doubt that will remain VAT free.
There was a pasty tax because of the EU.

Personally i’m amazed that Mr Swain was even run as a candidate given the shocking articles the West Briton published regarding him. This leaflet and the candidate shows a real crisis of decision making and campaign management with the Lib Dems in Truro.
