Dugher’s Defence

Guido’s exposé of Michael Dugher and his lobbying links has clearly hit a bit of a nerve. He took to Twitter last night to rebut the allegations:

Debatable. Standard practice would be:

‘Under the terms of their contract, special advisers are required to submit an application to the head of their former Department for any new appointment or employment they wish to take up during the two year period after their last day of paid service.”

The Cabinet Office may have cleared the job, but that doesn’t make it right…

The only thing that could make this more awkward was if there was some sort of link between Dugher’s upcoming Labour Party defence procurement review and EDS, the company for which he was formerly a lobbyist…

Its the Sh– Comprehensive Education that I got from the Knacker Politicians who send their Kids to Harrow and Eaton to get a Proper education so they can sit on their FAT arse running some Quango/Charity on a Trillion or so a year who couldn’t run a corner shop. While I had to start my own Business operating in 50 countries around the World paying Taxes to keep the Knackers Quasi educated Wa–ers in the Manner in which they have become accustomed. Well not for much Longer.

          • Sungei Patani says:

Are you unable to educate yourself? Most of my education I got outside of school by extensive reading and talking to people. These is no excuse for adult individuals to be uneducated – they can achieve it themselves.

        Fiscal Gerrymandering says:

You have to wonder how all these New Labour politicians with their Socialist credentials, all entered Parliament as poor as church mice and are leave multi-millionaires.

The Miliband’s have always been loaded and the other Labour front benchers all have rampant “Toynbee Syndrome” which is redistribution of wealth as long as it is not theirs.

          AC1 says:

Marxism is merely chronic envy (amongst other personality disorders) of others wealth. They merely sated their desires. The majority of people look upon those who have earned their wealth fairly as people to be emulated. The more the public let the envious win, the fewer wealth emulators their will be, and the poorer society will be.

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

This is known as “bad luck.”

Lets not beat about the bush. The modern Labour Party, while superficially harmless ufn as an experiment for the young and foolish, as an organisation is particularly attractive to thieves. Just as we ban ‘entry level’ drugs for the good of society as a whole, it is an ‘entry level’ organisation for thievish types on their way to serious organised criminality and as such it should be banned.

Typical smear from the fascist right press who cannot understand the pure as driven snow aims of the fabian, moralist, progressive and socialist party members involved in social leadership. We do the best for the country, and of course for ourselves, and what do we get?, unfounded and unjustified critique.

Oil be there for you says:

Britain has the fourth largest military budget in the world and we cannot afford to protect the whole world.

Get out of Afghanistan, get out of Libya, stop killing our young men and women to replace one corrupt tribal despot with another. Spend the money we save on helping people within our own shores.

Cut your coat according to your cloth, and Britain can no longer afford to play the world saviour role and egotistical, legacy conscious politicians should take heed.

Cameron, Osbourn and Hague need to scale back their world statesman ambitions, unless they want to end up discredited and pilloried like Blair and Brown.

    BBC News says:

Senior sources within the Labour Party have confirmed Ed Balls’ claims that he never wanted Alastair Darling’s job as Chancellor. Mr Balls was at pains this morning to express his confidence in Alastair Darling during his time at the Treasury but made clear that his memoirs are a distraction from the important job of attacking the Coalition’s jobs and spending cuts. In other news, Andy Coulson, the disgraced former Downing Street spinner whose resignation sent shock waves around Westminster was earlier seen at a car wash in Wandsworth.

I will oppose every coalition policy in opposition, even though I will later have to implement those same policies in government.

Yes, I have unfortunate first-hand knowledge of management at that level.

EDS and public sector is like Labour and Trade Unions, a link that exists but nobody like to talk about it considering their EDS’ epic failures at DWP and DVLA.

With such a track record of stellar success, no wonder Labour gave them a gig at the MoD; birds of a feather and all that.
