Harriet Harman is Gangsta Mutha #1

It was Erin Pizzey, the founder of the first refuge for battered women, who in the late eighties identified Labour’s then radicals Harriet Harman and Patricia Hewitt as dangerous feminist  ideological enemies of the family. Harman and Hewitt were in those days leading lights of the loony left’s radical feminist wing, arguing in pamphlet after pamphlet that “It cannot be assumed that men are bound to be an asset to family life, or that the presence of fathers in families is necessarily a means to social harmony and cohesion.” After decades of agitation, which influenced social policy as well as social workers, their attack on men and their role in modern life has reached its nadir in Tottenham. Local MP David Lammy put it bluntly last week: “We are seeing huge consequences of the lack of male role models in young men’s lives..” Harriet Harman is the ideological single-mother of those gangsta rioters.

Peter Oborne correctly identifies that behind the scenes New Labour’s party policy was captured by the likes of Harman and Hewitt who viewed the traditional two-parent family as an instrument of male, patriarchal oppression. The riots are the toxic legacy of such poisonous “progressive” attitudes.

In government Iain Duncan Smith has perhaps only until the next election to reverse decades of progressive social policies, he has to make work pay for people who have known only inter-generational worklessness and rebuild the traditional family as the prevailing societal norm. That task first starts in the think-tanks, moves onto the broadsheet editorial pages, before becoming a stated policy objective eventually leading to changes in the infrastructure of social policy. There is also a necessity for a reversal of the secular kulturkampf which progressives have waged to make non-judgemental, moral relativism the only acceptable official view. We are currently only at the think-tank and broadsheet editorial stage.

Harman’s 1990 IPPR  pamphlet “The Family Way” was described by Feminist Review as “An attempt to combat stultifying, traditionalist concepts of ‘the family’”. We have reached the end of that decades long struggle by Fabians and feminists to undermine the family; with 40%  of children born outside marriage and a minority of childhoods completed in the household of both biological parents. It is now apparent to all that few if any of Harriet Harman’s gangsta progeny come from those supposedly stultifying traditional families.

Actually, to be honest, and I am at times, – though not all the time, – I only said and wrote all those things to get attention.

You see, being in a strange place, a woman, – and I am a woman with a woman’s feelings and needs, – I felt starved of affection and it all seemed so pointless and hard.

So I strated all that crap about wimmin and men being rapists and all that frankly, sick, talk.

But all the while, I needed Jack to come to me, to say he needed me, to ask me to cook his breakfast, to be his soulmate, – all those things and more, – that every woman craves.

It seemd to work for a time, – well not long really.

The BBC would be a decent broadcaster if only its output were neutral. Recruitment policy at the corporation focuses on getting a broad cross-section of society, when it should at least be looking to employ people with a broad cross-section of political viewpoints.

    • 13
      Major Ardon says:

The only justification for a child benefit payment is when the state needs to increase birth rates, in order to strengthen the workforce to improve material security for the population.

This has not been necessary in the United Kingdom since the 1950s, when we were recovering from the economic devastation of the second World War.

It has now become, bluntly, a financial incentive to fuck without consequence. The only people who think carefully about having more children are the responsible middle classes whose main priority is to ensure that the children they do have can be raised in material security and comfort. For the millions of benefits dependent workshy they, effectively, get paid other peoples money for fucking.

My main concern about Harmon is that her entire life seems to be devoted to hatred of others. She shares this approach with most of her left wing colleagues. She is an extremely unpleasant human being. I would be happy to shoot her in the face at very close quarters.

        • 221
          Major Ardon says:

At first reading, Wolfie Jr, your message seems harsh. On reflection, however, I agree. Child benefit is an anachronism. ‘Tax credits’ is an administrative fudge that shuffles money around to please the political class but wastes the tax payer’s labour. Unemployment benefit is a misnomer.

I believe that it is right that a decent society should have a social security system. The deserving people who are down on their luck should be helped by those of us who are doing OK. Social security has been taken over by state dependency. I feel sure that few of the original architects of the social security system wanted (let alone foresaw) it to become a ‘welfare state’.

Unemployment ‘benefits’ should be seen as loans from friends which tide us through harsh times. The loans should be repaid in advance or when we get back on our feet.

I am happy to say that I have paid my dues many times over. I was advised once, when on student vacation, retraining after losing my first career, that I was entitled to draw the dole. I attended once. I lined up to draw my entitlement but could not stand the shame of lining up with junkies, drunks and piss stained arseholes who took their handout straight to the pub / pusher / pimp / whatever. I got a job at minimum wage, a bit of a drop from my previous career as a military officer but at least I worked with honest people.

All this benefits / welfare shite robs people of self respect. Socialists hate people so they will never understand the love that makes us want to see our own children have respect for themselves.

I do not know where Savile Row is, nor would I go there for a suit. I buy my clothes in the High Street and supermarkets.

Your comment suggests that you believe that I am some kind of toff. Perhaps because I hold the Queen’s Commission (I retired 30 years ago but she never asked for it back).

I was born to a working class family and spent much of my childhood living in caravans. In the summertime, we went without shoes and in the winter we got very cold. However, my childhood was happy because my parents and siblings loved me and I loved them.

I have had two careers and have good pensions. I took early retirement at 50 and live modestly but happily in a small market town.

Throughout a contented lifetime, in which I have sought happiness (successfully) more than material possessions (although I have several shiny things) I have learned not to hate anybody.

However, the one kind of person I cannot fucking abide is the shiftless, bone idle, whingeing wanker who cannot be arsed to get up and make a living for themselves and seek to blame all their lack of success on the unfair privilege of others. This means that I cannot abide a fucking socialist in any form whatsoever and I cannot abide Huhnes like you!

          • Lord Beveridge, the real problem says:

If you look at any sink estate, you will see single mothers with the optimum number of children to live on benefits, eight or nine, all children with different fathers. The Chav mothers worked out long ago that 8 or 9 kids was the optimum to live comfortably on welfare. The fathers are itinerant, they move from house and partner to house and partner with periods in between, spent in jail for drug dealing or other crime. If you ever visit these estates it is amazing to find how many people are related to each other. The unrecognised, as yet, problem, is that when litlle Johnny starts having sex with little Sharron round the corner as young teenagers, what they don’t know is that they are half brother and sister. When Sharron inevitably gets pregnant; quite often for genetic reasons, the child is of low intelligence or deformed. A genetic downward spiral has been created for the people on sink estates by the very welfare system that is supposed to be helping them. Instead of helping them, welfare is destroying them, in a genetic downward spiral.

          • Grumpy Old Man says:

It’s also worth noting that in such estates, nonces go unchecked and are virtually untouchable until a victim seeks help. Mothers ignore the damage to their children in favour of the extra income and a quiet time at nights.

          • Angry of Exmouth says:

Angry to the Major – my comment re jib made in Savile Row was meant to echo the previous response of “like the cut of your jib”. Surely I don’t have to explain that it was meant as a compliment? I agree with all you say about society today.

It is necessary but not sufficient to hold Harman to account; there are thousands who think like her spread around all the three old Westminster parties and no doubt in other parties too.

Such views are the dominant views in teacher training colleges and in the education and health departments at national and local government.

The task is too big for IDS who cannot rely on support in the Cabinet nor from the churches. He will be opposed by the massed ranks of the salariat which the left of all the old parties have put in place over 3 decades to advance such causes and oppose and destroy anyone in their way.

The riots last week were the wake up call. People all around are beginning to shuck off the glaze left behind and take responsibility back, to reclaim the world around them. Harman and her ilk, whatever their personal agenda (and her particular forte is man-hater) tried to destroy us all. Now the silent majority have woken up and Saturday marked a turning point. It will be the end of Labour. That wonderful man, Mr. Jahan, who is an example to us all, made it quite clear what it was all about. One wonders if Harriet shed any tears for him!

        Fish says:

I think that the Labour Party fell into the clutches of Harman and her comrades actually. Like them or loathe them Labour did have principles at one time. They were sometimes progressive, often misguided, but at least honest.

Harman and her ilk were typical of the entryists of the 70s and 80s that changed that. The ‘loony left’, with Marxism in its DNA, took over and burrowed away and did their worst under the cover of Blair. With Blair impotent and unable to control Brown, they set about dismantling this country for their own purposes, destroying its values; building a nation uneasy with itself, ashamed of its past, where success and achievement were a dirty words. The only successes that we heard were Brown’s tractor production figures and they came straight from Brown’s ‘shadow side’ – the upstanding ‘son of the manse’ turned out to be a power crazed serial deceiver.

I’ve seen this all before having had the (mis)fortune to work in Walsall, in the West Midlands in the 80′s and see entryists at work, first hand. The newly elected Labour leaders were soon removed by the hard left who, quite brazenly, said that they would put irreversible structures in place that would mean that their socialist ideals would perpetuate irrespective of the will of the people at future elections. That is what we have now in Britain – with grateful recipients of the state’s largesse ‘sat at the tit’ of government. ‘Sat at the tit’ of government, but clearly resentful.

What last week has told us is that it is increasingly clear that democracy, transparency and education are the true enemies of socialism. All of these things give people hope and freedom. Harman and her friends know it and don’t like it, for them control is everything.

And now we have a Conservative government, for them the threat is growing. The left are using every device in the book to frustrate change and defeat progress and they do so supported by their friends (or placed men and women?) in the media and in the instruments of government that they created.

It’s getting nasty. Labour have no coherent voice, they have no policies, no cogent solutions to the mess that they left. As an opposition party they are useless. Brown and Harman have left Labour a party in denial – the only thing that defines them is their bitterness, their nastiness and a lust for power, pure and simple. And in the same way that they turned on their ‘friends’ in NI, they will do anything to get it.

Harpie’s 1990 ippr paper said ‘families don,t necessary need fathers, which is why Families need Fathers is so named and why men separated from their children climb on Harriet,s roof.

Moreover, the whole of labour policy has been designed to make it easier for a woman to have a child solo. Add it up. A year,s maternity leave after the birth. Year,s 2 and 3 help with nursery fees. Year four, schooling (the earliest in Europe) right through to 18.

This is all so a woman can have children solo. Child benefit goes to the mother,s bank account only, as does child tax credits. Guaranteed custody in the event of divorce and the ability to clear the bloke out thanks to the latest domestic violence laws which require the mother to more than tick a box – no evidence required.

Moreover, mothers have the ability to ignore court orders without risk of jail. Some might say the most persist offenders in the country are women trying to stop their children from their father.

The trouble for the vaulting hypocrite Harman is that children are notoriously unprogressive and really want two parents under the same roof. And young boys really need a proper bloke around 24/7.

Camilla Batmanthingy from Kid,s Company once said the problem for young black men is that nobody likes them, even their own mothers, especially once they hit puberty.

Families need fathers. Harman and co have shifted policy hard to ensure women can have a fair crack at losing the father and not starving. This attitude – half in half out – now permeates the marriages of most blokes. I know many who come home to suddenly find their wife wishes them to bugger off.

Still, there is one bright note. So successful has harriet been, men are so much more wary of marrying gobby birds with a degree that generation x,s fertility rate has plunged to just 50 percent.

Next stop for madam thicky: the feminists demand the right to have children…

If we are going to win these arguments right wing speakers who appear on radio and tv need to be better tutored.
They need to get used to taking on not just other speakers but also the liberal bias of most presenters, who need to be exposed for their own biases, instead of being allowed to pretend they are neutral.
They also need to find a way to take on the favourite tactic of Labour speakers, which is to win the argument by conjuring up instant statistics. Watch Labour party speakers at all levels, they do it all the time.
Its not easy to take on such institutional bias but we have to get better at doing it, people in this country are not stupid; expose the presenters on some of these programmes for their bias, challenge every exasperated sigh, every interruption, every look of horror (a la Emily Maitlis), every comfy assumption.

Queer sort of folks , labour folk are. Steve Lloyd says:

Trouble is CMD has reneged on all of the family friendly policies he went on and on about before the General election and until he delivers on those promises, nothing will change. Family frendly welfare reforms especially, as these are possibly one the main drivers of social instability, based on the fact that so many people are on them.

Two friends both working in relatively low paid jobs for as long as i can remember. One wage paid the bills, the other paid for food, clothes and luxuries, if you can call Sky and a night down the club once a week luxuries.

The female in the relationship lost her job and applied for state help, £65 a week which would in no way compensate for her loss of earnings, but would keep them off the bread line. This was denied because the male earned enough, in the opinion of the state, to disqualify her for state aid, ie JSA.

Results, after months of struggling and at their wit’s end the Male moved out, went back to live with his Mother. The female now qualified for every benefit under the sun, rent was paid in full, council tax was paid in full. She received single parent substinance, and all sorts of other benefits, not available to her previously. the father knowing he/they were probably under surveillence stayed within the remits of the laws that apply to benefit claiments, and visited a couple of days/nights a week.

Eventually the situation took its toll, and they drifted apart. The mother became comfortable with her position and stopped looking for work. The kids their pocket money/treats now denied them (wrongly) went off the rails. What was a stable reasonably happy family was destroyed, it was now disfuntional, and costing the state a fortune, all for the sake of £65 a week. Dave promised that the abnomolies in the system that caused people to live apart for financial resons would be addressed, he has quietly dropped them, and instead adopted the same authorotarian stance of the last goverment. If your living together and claiming apart, we will get you. Not we will help you stay together until you can once more improve your lot, but we will get you.

Big society, bollocks, unless he changes, i will never vote for him again. I wont vote Labour either as I actually hate them, seeing some of them on the TV ect makes me feel physically sick. But if they get back in it’s because The conservatives have failed to redress the unfairness in society most of which can be restored by little more than an outbreak of common sense.

Why has she never been outed as a lesbian? Back in the 70′s her and her men hating dyke mates were all employed by Ken Livingstone, they were out and out men haters.

There was a BBC TV series called Lefties and one episode concentrated on the leftie dykes, the Greenham Common lot and those who were all part of these feminist groups.

One very interesting comment was from one of the feminist today who simply smiled when she admitted she’s ‘married a man’ “sleeping with the enemy” she called it. These women got no where on the outside who simply infiltrated the Labour party and in may cases had to ‘marry’ even though they are sham marriages, just as Gordon’ Brown’s marriage is a sham.

These women have chipped away at everything male, the education system now happily churns out boys as thick as pig shit, the whole of the welfare state is geared towards fat women to breed, the NHS is entirely geared towards female healthcare and now we see the feminists attacking the world of work and politics.

Most of these women are thick and useless but demand 50% (or more) representation simply based on their genitals (unless you’re Harman’s fake husband)

I still don’t understand why any man gets married or even wants to shack up with a woman in Britain, they will rape you of your home, your pension and anything else you have of value. Argue and they just point the finger and shout rape.

OK, so everybody pretty much agrees that the riots were caused by the unemployable underclass. There seems to be some disagreement about why they’re unemployable; indeed that seems to be all that’s being argued about at the moment. Nobody seems to be trying to discuss what to do about it.

I think there’s a few things that are already being tackled, such as arresting and bringing those involved to justice, changing the education system to give teachers the back-up they need to encourage discipline in schools, and ammending the Welfare system such that work pays better than handouts.

However, that won’t change the existing generation of ‘Gangstas’ – the ones who’s idea of a father’s responsibilies is being present at the conception and nothing else, who never learned to read and write, and have no intention of getting work. I think to turn them round, we need some boot camps – military discipline 24 hrs a day, intensive teaching to rectify the educational failure, skills training, hard work. Sort of National Service but without the weapons. Might not work for all, but some structure and discipline in life for a couple of years might turn some of ‘em round.

    Anybody got any other ideas?

What’s wrong with workfare? The Germans use it. Under the Hartz4 reforms brought in by the Social Democrat Schröder it’s standard. There’s whinging, of course, but this is how it runs:

“To receive payments, claimants must agree to a contract subject to public law. This contract outlines what they are obliged to do to improve their job situation, and when the state is obliged to help. Unemployed persons may be forced to accept any kind of legal job. This compulsion is restricted by constitutional rights, like freedom of movement, freedom of family, marriage and ‘human dignity’. If taking on a specific placement is deemed reasonable by the responsible agency, not applying will result in a reduction or even complete suspension of the appropriate payment.

      Yes.

Although quite well documented at the time, the activities of Harman, Dromey and Patricia Hewitt at the National Council for Civil Liberties in the 1970′s – defending organisations which promoted consensual sex between children and adults, doesn’t get mentioned much nowadays.

      http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/labour/4949555/Harriet-Harman-under-attack-over-bid-to-water-down-child-pornography-law.html

Miss Harman, 58, was a newly qualified solicitor when she became legal officer for the National Council for Civil Liberties, now known as Liberty, in 1978. At the time its general secretary was Patricia Hewitt, who went on to become health secretary under Tony Blair.

Among the groups affiliated to NCCL were the Paedophile Information Exchange and Paedophile Action for Liberation, whose members argued openly for the abolition of the age of consent. NCCL complained to the press watchdog about their treatment by tabloid newspapers and said in one article: “We support any organisation that seeks to campaign for anything it wants within the law. They have that right.”

In NCCL’s official response to the Government’s plans to reform sex laws, dubbed a “Lolita’s Charter”, it suggested reducing the age of consent and argued that “childhood sexual experiences, willingly engaged in, with an adult result in no identifiable damage”. It claimed that children can suffer more from having to retell their experiences in court or the press.

Amid growing public concern about adults preying on children, the Protection of Children Bill was put before Parliament in order to tighten the laws on child pornography by banning indecent images of under-16s.

NCCL’s official response, signed by Miss Harman and submitted in April 1978, claimed that the new law could lead to “damaging and absurd prosecutions” and “increase censorship”.

She suggested that a pornographic photo or film of a child should not be considered indecent unless it could be shown that the subject had suffered, and that prosecutors would have to prove harm rather than defendants having to justify themselves.

Her submission states: “Although this harm may be of a somewhat speculative nature, where participation falls short of physical assault, it is none-the-less justifiable to restrain activities by photographer which involve placing children under the age of 14 (or, arguably, 16) in sexual situations.

“We suggest that the term ‘indecent’ be qualified as follows: – A photograph or film shall not for this purpose be considered indecent (a) by reason only that the model is in a state of undress (whether complete or partial); (b) unless it is proved or is to be inferred from the photograph or film that the making of the photograph or film might reasonably be expected to have caused the model physical harm or pronounced psychological or emotional disorder.”

The BBC has started to fight back against the overwhelming groundswell of public opinion that rioters are animals and should be deported, killed, etc. Every interview now has a bunch of lefties blaming “issues”, the panel programmes are rigged to drown out the voices of reason, footage of both the riots and now the clean-ups are heavily edited to show as many White people as possible rioting and as many black people as possible clearing up. Being “balanced”, interviews with people who have lost their possessions and livlihood are matched by an equal number of people expressing “forgiveness” and “understanding”. Anyone expressing a negative view of looters, arsonist and thieves is asked to comment on the reasons for the riots.
Today BBC World has fielded in the newspaper reviwers that awful anti-white racist , Yasmin Alibhai-Brown ( A cross betweenn alibi and ali-baba) who stated that “This is not the time to refer to feral rats. It doesn’t help?”

Come along and let us reinstate the Poor Laws. We know the people are nothing without their leaders so come, hurry along, let’s take all of the swag for ourselves and leave everybody else to fend for them selves, to rot and die as they choose

Yet for the lower orders, Harriet wants something less than what she has for herself.

It’s as if Harriet Harman despises the lower orders and feels they are somehow sub-human.

She reminds me of the story of a member of the French Royal Court who asked a male companion if the peasants knew of the emotion called ‘love’? When he answered in the affirmative, she is said to have replied: “Oh! Such a pity that such a delicious emotion is wasted on the peasants!”
