Moonbat: “This is our Berlin Wall”

Though he has often strayed, eco-toff George Monbiot (Stowe and Brasenose, Oxford) has finally exited the reality based community. Here was his orgasmic reaction to NewsCorp withdrawing the bid yesterday:

Guido thinks a special order of the OTT and all round mocking is in order.

Though we should pause to remember the thousands of hacks shot dead trying to escape East Wapping.

      Sir William Waad says:

Mr Monbiot had been showing some encouraging signs of ratiocination lately, with sermons on the lines of “Nuclear power companies are the spawn of Satan but we need them to keep the light on”. Heigh-ho. As TS Eliot wrote, humankind cannot bear very much reality.

      • 71

He even went as far as to admit that total self sufficiency, wind farming your own land, would never generate the power to be able to manufacture anything bigger than a dustbin.

I think the true Islington eco warriors think he’s a capitalist running dog turncoat.

          Who, me? says:

Saying in one breath that we must, for example, run all vehicles on free-range, corn-fed-chicken droppings, but in the next saying that we need a nuclear programme (peace, man), is surely just ‘Monbiot diversity’.

        ssdb says:

It was his support of nuclear power that convinced the Germans to do away with theirs, using the old adage “if George Monbiot supports it, it has to be stupid”.

          misterned says:

So the Germans are sort of doing away with it, they will be importing a fair amount of nuclear generated energy from France. As well as looking to coal/gas to stop their own lights going out.

          • Engineer says:

They’re not really doing away with it, just saying they might in a few years. When they have a hoo-ha about keeping the lights on, they’ll say, “OK, ve vill keep zem open.”

          • ssdb says:

“So the Germans are sort of doing away with it, they will be importing a fair amount of nuclear generated energy from France. As well as looking to coal/gas to stop their own lights going out.”

    Lord Carrington's Binoculars says:

Thing is, the 250,000 people who buy the Guardian (all of them in government, fucking the country up) really, really, think that Rupe is personally responsible for making the workers conservative.

All that, locking people up and stopping mass immigration are ideas put in their heads by New International.

The middle class Left really do believe that the workers are suffering false consciousness. Their analysis is massively flawed. Just because the Guardianistas subscribe to an ideology that they cling on to despite the evidence of reality, doesn’t mean middle-england does the same.

We all know that if you lock up a criminal, if nothing else, the bugger can’t commit any more crime.

The exit from reality is that a Social Democratic paradise is only weeks away, now Labour isn’t scared of Rupe anymore.

    White Russian says:

A Berlin wall moment requires the downfall of people who admire Karl Marx, commies, socialism and all that crap, and it seems to me they are all still firmly in place in this country, I have read Hodge and Trevor Phillips both had busts of Lenin in their offices, wasn’t Ed Milibands father one of the countries preminent Marxists and his grandfather in the Red Army?

Then there is the BBC, the teaching proffession, local govt, the law, publishing, the media stuffed to the gunnels with Che Guevara t shirt wearers, even the Archbishop of Canterbury seems to have a marxist past from what i have read, so this country is far from having a Berlin Wall moment, but at some point it will and then they’ll all be wetting their knickers when the British people realise what they’ve all been up to.

Remember the original name for ‘political correctness’ was ‘cultural marxism’.

In my role as chairman of the Society for Conservation of the Moon Bat I would urge you to reconsider your rather harsh and un-green position on this matter.

The Moon Bat is a rare and exotic creature. It is highly sensitive to changes in it’s habitat (mainly the tropical left-wing guff forests of the Guardian and the Observer) and can only be preserved by sustained and careful management and dollops of cash, paid in return for its precious guano – or ‘articles’ to use the scientific term.

We are currently conducting research into how Moon Bats fly in such an elevated sphere that mere mortals cannot comprehend. Although it is almost certain that their ability to fly to the Moon and back is apocryphal and the stuff of folklore, we beleive the Moon Bat has much to tell us.

I would urge you all to join our Adopt a Moon Bat scheme and save this precious creature before it becomes extinct like the much lamented Polly Twadle.

    “OUR Berlin wall moment”

Who’s was the original Berlin wall moment?

Oh, that would have belonged to the nasty savage baby-eating capitalist bastards, wouldn’t it…. Why doesn’t George just fuck-off to North Korea – he’d clearly be much happier there.

      Dick Robinson says:

He certainly wouldn’t be happy in China where they are building a new coal power station every week while laughing at us stupid gwailos (that’s the Cantonese, don’t know the Mandarin equivalent) for paralysing our industries with stupid green taxes and quotas.

    Down With Brown! says:

The Murdochs are going testify on Tuesday. Looking forward to what they are going to reveal.

Where are the lawyers going to sit ? :-)

      Eeu to me says:

I reckon a lot of MP’s and Lords and Police will be looking forward to what they will reveal, I hope they have enough handcuffs and jailspace if it goes the way we all hope.

Gordon Brown ate my hamster says:

We all know what will happen next week at the committee when Murdoch and Brooks attend. Every time they try and mention how cosy Labour and particularly Brown were with NI, Tom Fatson will interrupt with “I didn’t ask you that” or some shit. Hopefully if the committee chairman is a Tory, he or she will put Twatson in his place and let them give their side of the story.

I’ll be tuning in with popcorn and cola, not only for the heated questioning but hopefully for juicy embarrassing revelations about how sycophantic Labour were towards NI. Something along the lines of Brooks telling the committee “I was very surprised by what Mr Brown said last week because he and his wife were at my 40th birthday party and he never mentioned anything about these allegations” would be delicious.

    Stinkfinger says:

    Talking of historical moments.
I will remember where I was the day Monbiot gets shot dead.
I’ll be on a flat roof with a scoped 7.62 rifle.

monbiot is a classic example of what you get when blinkered idealists mate with the terminally suicidal

    Ctesibius says:

The most amazing, chilling totalitarian moment is when I reread what Moonbat had read and realised that he doesn’t think that the fall of the Berlin Wall was ‘his’. Scratch a Guardian writer, it seems, and underneath you find a good old fashioned Commie…

    Right Way Forward- http://rightwayfwd.blogspot.com/ says:

Monbiot is not the only lefty to join the order of the OTT. Over on ‘All That’s Left’, Ray North asks ‘is Ed Miliband the new Clement Attlee?’ (http://www.allthatsleft.co.uk/2011/07/is-ed-miliband-the-new-clem-attlee/)
I’ve helped Ray out with his question on http://rightwayfwd.blogspot.com/.

The Stasi wept when the wall came down says:

I guess he must have wept when the Berlin wall came down. “Our” Berlin wall moment – for all the Stasi loving communist material at the BBC….They can celebrate the emasculation of the free press and we can live in tractor statistic PC wonderland

  62. 163
    Waving and drowning says:

My pension (yes, some of us had to pay for it) has been wrecked by the Labour Party and the last government. As a weeping and innocent victim of targeted hacking can I claim full compensation from Ed Miliband and Ed Balls? No point in chasing Brown as he is certifiably insane.

The last Quango in Paris says:

Mr Bryant and Mr Watson managing to make the whole hacking affair look like a farce – the more they moan the less I care about the whole subject! So partisan it beggars belief at all costs. They cannot rise above it ! If I was to call the PM a ‘liar’ I would want to be VERY sure.
