bitter in defeat - smug being in the right says:

12,000,000 voted and did not want AV….

they believed the lies about increase costs (only if the result needed on a friday night – yet all AV+ poll counts in on friday night)

they believed voting was like a horse race – when most punters at horse races dont vote on the nose, by each-way bets

they believed AV would bring more hung parliaments – yet with Scotland now a socialist strong hold (socalist gov for 13 years), Wales Hung, NI Hung – how can Tories ever win a majority in South England alone (north england Lib/Labour) with FPTP

also Labour unlikely to win UK majority either due to SNP

so weak, hung parliaments more likely than before.

and yet the cuts and increase taxes yet to bite….

Already talk that libdems mandate in GE undermined, if so then so is the conservative mandate as they only got 35% of vote , while labour got 40% under FPTP

We are at a high point for tories, and low point for libdems with Labour stuck in neutral

Next election will not be three main parties against each other – but UKIP, SNP, Plaid Cumri, BNP etc etc all knocking votes from major 3 parties and leaving majority more unlikely

You bed is made – so now lie in it.

As we saw last year in the General Election…. if a government of 18 years – wrecks the economy, undermines manufacturing, employes 1000 of trade unionists as nurses/teacher/etc/etc, allows millions to rest on the dole, imports millions of foreigners to enter and do jobs those on dole should…

The country can barely even unite to remove them from power – labour did not loose the election by much… a hand full more seats and they would have been in position to form coalition – and they dont need big swing away from the tories to get back in power.

Blair demolished the Tory govenment leaving it to recover over 18 years, Cameron barely able to wrest power from thier hands and does not look set for reign of anything more than 5 short years.

Cameron needs to change boundaries quick or face a generation in the wilderness.

His son was campaigning for Yes that is possibly the irrational reason why he wanted to vote yes. Both should be with the lefty BBC.

Politicians have little honour, integrity or honesty. The AV campaign was for the benefit of 57 Lie Dem MPs which cost the tax payer about £80 million pounds that we can not afford. What happened to the EU referendum that most people want???? When is Laws going to be investigated by the police???

No rational reason why the US politicians ordered the assassination bin Laden against rule of law, liberty, justice, freedom, civilised society values and all their other claims. They simply did not know where to jail him or put him on trial. So they killed him and dumbed his body in the sea.

They were prepared to have fund raisers for IRA terrorists who blew up people in the UK and to harbour them from justice. Disgusting US hypocrisy and bully boy foreign policy.

Cameron and Clegg lavished praise on Obama, I can’t wait for them to promote capital punishment in the UK, at least these criminals will have a trial.

The only electoral reforms we really need are restricted postal votes (medical certificate or proof of travel plans required), proper boundaries without the inbuilt Labour bias, and most of all a proper power of recall if the MP fails to perform – there’s no reason for the HoC benches to be so embarrassingly empty when we pay the buggers so well just for sitting down and talking a bit.

Trouble with Snow is that he’s one of these lefties who never seems to have grown up; intellectually he’s still the adolescent rebelling against his parents, his alma mater, etc. His partiality is disgraceful in a tv news presenter, but equally worrying is the lack of rigour and the excess of emotional engagement conveyed in certain discussions. The typical kneejerk Snow response to most international incidents, for instance, is to push the anti American line and fall back, where applicable, on the anti colonial, anti British line. He fawns over foreigners so regularly ( unless american) that it comes over as servility. He is very wet, he is rather dense; not so much Snow as Fog. And never ever trust a John who drops the H from his name.

AV was, is and always will be a grubby little compromise and good riddance to it. But we are still stuck with a system where the winner takes all despite only getting 30% of the votes. Surely there is a better system?

Oh and did you hear Cameron say that the public “was boss” and has spoken against AV. What about when the public clearly spoke against many of the cutbacks/government policies, then it becomes “we have to make tough decisions” and suddenly the public view doesn’t count.

And while I’m on a rant against politicians, when are they going to be subject to these tough decisions? I don’t see their gold plated and unaffordable pension scheme being reduced in anyway, or their extremely generous expenses being reduced (they did amend them to reduce fraudulent claims but they even managed to get that watered down).

Guido, is it not a good time for you/your co-conspirators to re-visit MP’s expenses to see who is still playing the system? Go on, we know you want to.

But, you’re quite right – all of the cuts could be cancelled if Cameron stopped handing out (a) £10billion each year in foreign aid and (b) £11billion each year to the EU. What he saves in cuts, he p*isses away, whilst laughing.

Also, on the matter of expenses, our MPs are now claiming £4,000,000 more this year than they did at the start of the expenses scandal. This is CMD’s idea of “listening to the public”. He is an utter twat.

If he wants to rant about stupid people, he should be ranting about Labour. If it wasn’t for their mess, and the public’s desire to see it cleared-up, Cable wouldn’t be in a government cabinet. He has no place to be whining about what the people have decided.

A quick review of the ‘news’ (which seems to be almost exclusively dominated by folk who have long given up on reporting in favour of opinion, and integrity in favour of tribal abuse of their, often publicly-funded, pulpits), it would seem the main problem is this democratic vote thing.

Seems the view is that it would be a lot better (for them) if only the people of the country who fund them (often uniquely) didn’t have one.

Which they appear to be working on.

    I do wish they’d desist. It’s vexing.

Don’t forget that under the international convention for establishing offshore national boundaries for mineral resources, all but one of the UK’s offshore oil and gas fields will be in Scottish waters. Taking charge of that tax income will cost England rather a lot of benefit payments. That’s the real reason why Westminster doesn’t want an independent Scotland. All that Petroleum Revenue and Corporation Tax for 6 million people instead of 65 million!!!

An independent Scotland could do very nicely once it get over its socialist tendencies. That may take some time and a lorra lorra pain…

When Boris saw a woman being mugged by hoodies he got stuck in and sorted them out. I heard on a radio news report that when Jon Snow saw a similar event just cycled past minding his own business. Sir Lancelot he is not!

His conduct during his interviews with Mark Regev should be grounds for dismissal.

This Scottish ‘independence’ thing is a complete fraud. Scotland and England are joined by an Act of Union, they weren’t coerced, since they’d screwed their economy up (not helped by the failed Darien colony venture) and the only bailout was economic and political union with England. If they dissolve the union, then Scotland will become another socialist freebies for all Brussels dependent fiefdom. England will benefit massively economically if the Tories end up being almost permanently in power. Entrepreneurial Jocks will come south akin to the fashion they did leaving Scotland to build the British Empire. An ‘independent’ Scotland, do the SNP really get the potential consequences of this? Even the ‘Scottish’ oil which is a territorial and political myth, won’t keep the dole queues and free university educations going forever. How will they defend themselves? What will they produce and sell, how will they trade? I’ve gone through much of the SNPs material and I don’t see how their ideas match reality. Good news fort he English though, provided Cameron doesn’t keep them in handouts after independence.
