Over-Spending Socialists Crushed in Elections

This situation maybe familiar: an over-spending left-of-centre government faces election, the centre-right opposition offers a promise of tax cuts and free market reforms to bring economic growth to a country which is on the verge of bankruptcy.

In Hungary overnight Fidesz have swept the socialists out of office winning 52% of the vote to the ruling party’s 19%.

The Fidesz party logo is an orange smiley face and this morning the smile is very broad…

Guido fact: Back in 1988 Fidesz were a little known rag-tag bunch of idealistic libertarian students under threat of arrest from the communists. The great David Hart, fresh from smashing Scargill’s thugs, channeled support to them from the West. Within a year Hungarian communism fell and Fidesz were in government. Another reason to recognise David Hart with an honour.

Alternatively…..The ultra-Conservative Fidesz party and its ally the Christian People’s Party took 206 seats in the 386-seat single-chamber Parliament, and is charged with forming a government by June. It is widely expected to be pushed further to the Right by the openly anti-Semitic Jobbik which is expected to have 26 seats in the new government.

The big problem in this country is all about labels. They are called “labour” or even “new labour” which all sounds cosy and cuddly and used to have a kind of “we stand up for those who work” type ring to it.

If they were called “The marxist party” or “the communists” things might be very different. Oh, they will deny they are either, in fact Tony Blair was certainly no marxist, but the point is, to get elected they need to pretend to be something else.

But take a peek at the political backgrounds of some of the cabinet, and many of their MPs…and of the union leaders who bankroll them. The far left has never gone away. It just got better at disguising itself.

Don’t forget that labour has spent the last 13 years indoctrinating kids in schools that tory = nasty, scaring their client state of welfare dependents that tory = cuts to their lifestyle and employing a vast new army of voters in the form of a massive increase of public sector workers. Why is Cameron being so quiet about the demolition of Tory values?
That’s an easy question to answer.
The British parliament is no longer an independent entity, it has given away the sovereignty of the British people, which it had no legal right to do, and is now just a middle management organisation serving the European parliament.
So Dave’s just a middle manager who does as he is told.
The old saying ‘All political careers end in failure’ is no longer true, for when politicians have been rejected by their local electorate they can now be promoted to work for the EU in unelected and highly paid positions where they can dictate to the British and European poplulation how to live their lives.
Dave knows this and probably has an eye on a well paid position when he gets turfed out of office in this country.
Look at it as a retirement home for rejected politicians where they can be voted out and home but still have the benefit of living off the back of the taxpayer and not worry about democracy or being elected and all that hassle.
Lord Hailsham coined the term Elective Dictatorship but what we are witnessing with this corrupt political class goes even further, the EU has perfected an Unelective Dictatorship and in that sense it has directly replaced the communist USSR.
The USSR was a more honest entity in that it never pretended to be a democracy whereas the EU does, so you could say that the EU is worse than the USSR used to be.

It is clear that neither the Conservatives nor the New Labour party wish to discuss the political class illegaly giving away the sovereignty of the British people to the European parliament or the fiscal deficit or the illegal occupation of Afghanistan.
The three most important issues of the day are being completely ignored by the political class.
Which rather begs the question: what is the point of the political class apart from serving its own interests.
To which the answer is none.
Although we are only the its second week this farce of a general election campaing has has already proved beyond any doubt that democracy in the UK is dead.
It has been murdered and buried by the political class.

The election campaign of the MDF, the Tories’ allies in the European parliament, was headed up by Bokros Lajos, a former Communist and the Finance Minister in Horn Gyula’s 1994-98 socialist administration. The MDF did badly because Hungarians are turning their back on their Communist past and anyone associated with the socialists in any way.

The landslide of Fidesz and Orban Viktor is a source for joy for those who love Hungary and long it to have a democratic and free future. Fidesz refuse to accept former any Communists among their candidates. They are fiscal conservatives, favouring low taxes and reduced government spending. Orban showed great courage in leading the student protests against Communist one-party rule in 1989. He is also the leading advocate of the Hungarians ethnic minorities who still suffer the negative effects of the Trianon Treaty.

Robin Birley looks like a cross between Paul McCartney and Popeye. Extraordinary that the likes of Bid Pratt would give him money.

      Sir William Waad says:

Don’t knock carbon credits – they are a jolly nice liittle earner for chaps like me. I’m not in the major league like Birley, Gore and Pachauri, who can make oodles of tax-free offshore dollars while ‘saving the planet’ (Al, old boy, the planet will still be there long after we’re six feet under its surface). I do make a useful sum, though, from tree-planting. The trick is to pick ones that won’t grow, so that you can remove or replace them without having to pay back the subsidy. In fact, I’m thinking of establishing beavers so they will fell the trees and I can make even more cash from the timber, while posing as a nature-lover.

Basic rule: wherever people behave irrationally, there’s money to be made.

Here’s a fact for you Guido, I was one of Scargill’s ‘thugs’ as you so glibly call us. Let me tell you pal, there were no bigger thugs than the police in the strike. Don’t think it makes you look clever saying things like that – because it doesn’t

With finances on a par with Iceland and a totally polarised electorate Hungary is the poorest and most unstable country in the EU. It was the only communist country not to have a truth commission and has never confronted the crimes of WW2 and the 56 revolution. Consequently since the fall of the Berlin wall the majority of elected governements have been made up from ex-commies who now have millions in the bank and drive big Mercedes. All the state assest have been sold and the profits in private hands, it has no wealth generating assets and is kept going by the black economy. The incoming Orban governement are well intentioned but have little skill or experience in leadership, especially economic competence. The last time they were in power they were just as bad if not worse than the socialists. The promotion of Jobik into mainstream politics is a catastrophe not just for Hungary but for Europe. They are a dangerous, manipulative group of ‘fashits’ whose antics involve burning down roma property and waiting outside with shotguns to shoot them when they try to escape. If you are gay, black, asian, jewish or roma watch out. Don’t think you are safe if you are white Western European or North American either. In their eyes you are a wicked foreigner who is responsible for the economic destruction of their nation. The Hungarian left wing have left their county a devastated mess which has presented an opportunity for the worst kind of right wing to take over. Interestingly the PM who was caught on radio claiming that his governement had lied, lied, lied! based his model on nu Labour and had special guidance provided by non other than Mssrs Bliar and Meddlesom.
