Last night, as Dale predicted, Draper sent out an email to LabourList subscribers saying that he was stepping down as editor. No indication as to what has happened to Tom Miller, who aided and abetted Derek in his smear operations. The new editor, Alex Smith, seems to have decent intentions. Guido still has some reservations. Who pays Alex’s wages? Who funds Tangent Labs development of the rather clunky and overly expensive bespoke software and hosting on which the site runs? Is Derek still the proprietor?
ConservativeHome and LibDemVoice are much more transparent about funding. Some clarity from LabourList on this might be a good idea going forward. Guido genuinely wishes Alex well with the new direction of the site.

The second folows the earllier banning of the Dutch MEP. and is for a US talk show loud mouth called Savage, available on the net, who has been banned for claims that he encourages violence. no evidence to support that, so whats the game?

The answer should be related to ” council discount given to a property which is not someone’s main home ” This applies for example to a secondary or holiday type residence. This cannot be lived in for 52 weeks of the year but requires the resdient to be “off site” for a specific period, I think it is six weeks.
Being a secondary residence would of course qualify for expenses claims.
It is, however, not possible to make a claim for council tax discount if you are wholly resident at a property, and therefore, the gunshot rings loud and true when the foot is hit at short range!
