The Tories’ 2019 advertising stars Topham Guerin – praised with refreshing the party’s winning social media output – were awarded a contract worth £3 million by the Government in March for the Government’s Coronavirus advertising campaign. Not everyone was struggling financially during lockdown…
The contract details confirm the crack advertising team were awarded the princely taxpayer sum for their services from March to September this year for “radio, television, communication, telecommunication and related equipment”. Guido understands the TG team were behind the striking update to, among other things, No. 10’s podium branding at the end of March. To put it another way, that’s £1 million per podium instruction…
Following Boris’ new video last night answering the most googled questions about him, embattled electioneering Irish Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has now released his own version. Guido understands that while Topham Guerin did the Boris video last night, they are not behind Leo’s video. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery…
The big point of discussion on the Twittersphere today has been over CCHQ’s recent graphic output, with their new choice of garish colours and elaborate fonts. Less so eye-catching, more so eye-watering…
The new memes are being thought up by the party’s new digital gurus Topham & Guerin, brought in by campaign director Isaac Levido off the back of the Australian Tories’ election victory; in which they used deliberately mockable memes and graphics to get people talking. CCHQ’s deliberately less corporate-looking, more light-hearted approach under Boris is getting flack on Twitter. In response to the mockery the party just put out this comic sans font graphic:
Another sign, if one were needed, that the Tory election campaign machine is going to be very different this time round…
UPDATE: CCHQ clearly whipping MPs to spread their new viral graphics…
