Spitting Image returns tomorrow, though unfortunately this series will have to ditch their regular Cummings and Hancock ribbing. To make up for such comedic losses the team has just released two new puppet designs for their forthcoming series, including a Shreked-up Alex Salmond and a Bond villain-esque Sajid Javid.

Guido was worried for a second that the new Spitting Image had fallen into the trap of hero worship – that is until the end of her song. Suddenly the sketch revealed itself to be lampooning those doing the hero worship: “Do you know how hard it is to quarantine two small islands with low population and a wealth of natural resources that renders us completely self sufficient?” Not very!
Will it be as good this time? The show returns on Saturday 3rd October for a 10 week run. It is encouraging that Spitting Image’s co-creator Roger Law is heading up the show’s creative team, and Jeff Westbrook (The Simpsons, Futurama) is leading the writing team. Here’s hoping it will offend everyone including the woke…
They have released a list of featured puppets, no videos and only a few pictures of the politicians being caricatured. Are they cruel enough?
