New Law Society President is Former Labour Candidate Who Boasted He Liked to “Pursue Politics Through the Courts”

New Law Society President David Greene is plastering the media today, slamming the Home Secretary. Greene claimed in a Guardian interview this morning to a Priti Patel has attacked lawyers for “simply doing their jobs”. The paper’s profile paints Green as an upstanding defender of the rule of law, standing firm against an extreme government…

What the Guardian interview did not mention, however is that Greene, a two-time failed Labour Parliamentary candidate and ‘class warrior’, once boasted “my practice has allowed me to pursue politics through the courts”. Sounds to Guido like Priti Patel was bang on about certain lefty lawyers…

Tank-Chasing Shiner Guilty

Disgraced lawyer Phil Shiner whipped-up vexatious claims against British soldiers in Iraq. Today his career is over. The Law Society Gazette reports:

“The tribunal found five counts of dishonesty proved against him following a two-day hearing earlier this week. He is almost certain to be struck off the roll.”

Justice…

UPDATE: Defence Secretary Michael Fallon has called on Shiner to apologise. He said:

“Justice has finally been served after we took the unprecedented step of submitting evidence on his abuse of our legal system. Phil Shiner made soldiers’ lives a misery by pursuing false claims of torture and murder – now he should apologise. We will study any implications for outstanding legal claims closely.”

Disgraced Far-Left Lawyer Phil Shiner Admits Acting Without Integrity

The shamed far-left lawyer Phil Shiner is before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal for his role in the vexatious claims against British soldiers who served in Iraq. An old CND comrade of Jeremy Corbyn, Shiner’s firm Public Interest Lawyers has already been closed down in disgrace and now Shiner faces 24 charges of his own. He has today admitted 18 of those charges, including that he acted recklessly and without integrity. The Law Society Gazette reports:

“Shiner admitted encouraging and authorising unsolicited direct approaches to potential clients arising out of the Battle of Danny Boy in southern Iraq in 2004. He also admitted authorising, procuring and approving payment of prohibited referral fees in September 2007.”

Often celebrated by the Guardian and the Indy, not to mention many in the Labour Party, Shiner made a career out of undermining British values and causes through the courts in the name of human rights. He has now been exposed as an ambulance chaser of the lowest form and it is inevitable he will be struck off. Justice…

Thatcher is Back!

thatcherbackA Law Society backed initiative called ‘The First 100 Years’  published a timeline celebrating the achievements of women connected to the law profession.  The list included former solicitor Nicola Sturgeon, Shami Chakrabarti and Guido’s favourite, Baroness Scotland. As Guido reported two weeks ago a certain female Tory barrister was missing. Subsequently confronted with the omission the team compiling the list has now added the first female PM to her rightful place. On the 26th anniversary of her resignation the Iron Lady is back. First Blair, now Thatcher. When will Disraeli return to the scene?

Legal Luvvies Forget Achievement of Notable Female Tory Barrister

thatcher-missing

A Law Society backed initiative called ‘The First 100 Years’  has published a timeline celebrating the achievements of women connected to the law profession. Certainly a noble project, or so you might think. Former solicitor Nicola Sturgeon is a deserved inclusion, Baroness Scotland makes the cut and so does Shami Chakrabarti, though for some reason they neglect to mention her more recent work. Curiously there is a gap between 1977 and 1980. The lefty legal establishment must have forgotten the achievement of a certain female Tory barrister in that time…
