Nigel More Popular Than All Tory Leader Candidates

This year’s Tory conference is all about the next big coronation. The leadership hopefuls are all out in force trying to charm the grassroots, despite the mood being a little flatter than previous years as the race continues to drag on. An Ipsos poll that just dropped isn’t going to boost morale amongst the camps, as it shows Nigel Farage is more popular than any of the candidates. The real leader of the Opposition…

According to the poll, Reform’s Nigel is leading the pack as 24% of Britons think he would be a good Prime Minister, leaving the likes of Cleverly on 15%, Tugendhat with a measly 12%, Badenoch on 11%, and  Jenrick scraping by at a dull 11%. This comes as Farage has been taking potshots at Kemi and Jenrick over their previous soft-touch approach to immigration, and Tory contenders continue to fight against each other to prove themselves. A few more weeks of this to come…

Over Half of Britons Think UK Heading in “Wrong Direction” Under Labour

A new Ipsos poll proves grim reading for Labour, as a whopping 52% of Britons now believe the country is heading in the “wrong direction” under Starmer’s leadership. Hardly a shock, given that since Labour took the reins at Number 10, the UK has has been burdened by riots, strikes, and the looming threat of eye-watering tax hikes…

The usual honeymoon period a new Prime Minister enjoys certainly didn’t last long for Starmer, as his net favourability now flatlines at 0 — a 7-point nosedive since he first took office. Meanwhile, his Cabinet isn’t too popular either, with Rachel Reeves at -8, Yvette Cooper at -5 and Angela Rayner at -3. Things can only get worse…

Ipsos First MRP Predicts Large Labour Landslide

In Ipsos’ first expansive MRP poll of the election Labour is predictably expected to score a massive landslide. The pollster says Labour could win 453 seats to the Tories’ 115, giving Starner 256-seat majority. That’s not quite as bad as some 70-80 seat scenarios. Not much of a silver lining…

LAB: 453, CON: 115, LDM: 38, OTH 19, SNP: 15, GRN: 3, RFM: 3.

117 seats are declared too close to call, while Reform is predicted to win three. Their average among pollsters is ticking up…

Tories Crash to Historic Low With Ipsos, Sunak’s Personal Rating As Low as Corbyn

The new Ipsos poll will do little for the few hopeful Tories left, as the party hits an all-time low of 19% – the lowest in 45 years. The Tories won’t seek comfort in Rishi’s personal ratings either, as he drops to a record low -59 points. The same level as Jezza Corbyn…

Meanwhile, Labour stayed relatively stable at 44% and Reform hit 13%, their highest score yet in an Ipsos poll. A whopping 37% of people think the Tories should change leader before the election, compared to 33% who don’t. Still, at least the ‘grown ups’ are back in charge…

Gaza Turmoil Hasn’t Harmed Labour Poll Numbers, Tories at Record Low With Ipsos

New Ipsos polling will send CCHQ into a spiral. Support for the Tories hit a record low, polling at 20 percentage points, trailing 27 percentage points behind Labour. The worst polling since Ipsos polling began in 1978…

Despite Labour being thrown into turmoil over Gaza, the Tories took a nosedive by seven points since the end of January. Meanwhile, Reform UK doubled their support to eight points. The last record low for Tory support was in 1997, just before Tony Blair’s New Labour took a landslide victory. With the tax burden not looking like it will ease up anytime soon, you can hardly blame the voters…

Half of LibDem Support Wiped Out in Poll

Ipsosfirst political monitor of the year has some interesting swings. Labour’s lead jumps to 22 from 17 in December as only 20% say they are satisfied with the job Sunak is doing as PM. Sunak’s approval rating of -46 is the lowest of any Prime Minister one year out from election year…

It would be armageddon for the LibDems if almost half of their total support was wiped out. It looks like they are suffering the consequences of Ed Davey’s abysmal performance dodging accountability in the wake of the Post Office ITV documentary. Reform sits on a low 4%, which party sources insist is an outlier with other polls this week placing them steady at between 9 and 12 points. Ipsos is opening up a wide gap with YouGov here…

48% of people say they have definitely decided who to vote for. Swings and roundabouts…
