Hamas Condemns Priti Patel

Hamas has slammed Priti Patel after this morning declaring she would proscribe the terrorist group next week. In this morning’s announcement she also warned that supporters of Hamas could face up to 10 years in jail. Guido pointed out Jeremy must be crestfallen…

In a statement published to the Hamas website the soon-to-be proscribed terrorist group expressed their “shock and dismay” over the decision and decided to “strongly condemn” the move:

“On this occasion, as we strongly condemn this decision, we call on all Palestinian factions and supporters of the Palestinian cause in Europe, in general, and Britain, in particular, to denounce the UK’s decision as a continuation of its aggression on the Palestinian people and their inalienable rights, which started more than one hundred years ago.”

“We believe that resisting the Israeli occupation with all means possible, including armed resistance, is a guaranteed right for peoples under occupation as per international law.”

Responding to the statement, a Home Office source tells Guido, “I think we will cope”.

Priti to Proscribe Hamas in Blow to Jeremy

Jeremy Corbyn could face up to a decade in prison if he ever meets with his “friends” from Hamas again, under a new proscription of the group to be announced by Priti this afternoon. Speaking in America she’ll declare that the political wing will join the military wing of the terrorist Palestinian group on the Home Office’s proscribed group list, and individuals who express support will be in breach of the Terrorism Act 2000. This includes flying its flag, arranging to meet its members, wearing supportive clothing or being so idiotic as to actually pay them a visit – say in November 2010, before then failing to register who paid for the trip…

Patel will push the change through Parliament next week, trailing the announcement to the press last night and saying it’s vital to help protect the Jewish community:

“We’ve taken the view that we can no longer disaggregate the sort of military and political side. It’s based upon a wide range of intelligence, information and also links to terrorism. The severity of that speaks for itself…

Hamas is fundamentally and rabidly antisemitic… Antisemitism is an enduring evil which I will never tolerate. Jewish people routinely feel unsafe — at school, in the streets, when they worship, in their homes, and online. This step will strengthen the case against anyone who waves a Hamas flag in the United Kingdom, an act that is bound to make Jewish people feel unsafe.”

As well as calling them his friends, the Rt Hon. Member for Islington North also previously:

  • Called for Hamas to be removed from terror banned list.
  • Called Hamas “serious and hard-working“.
  • Attended conference with Hamas and PFLP.
  • Hired aide who praised Hamas’ “spirit of resistance“.
  • Accepted two more trips from the pro-Hamas group PRC.
  • Speaker at conference hosted by pro-Hamas group MEMO.
  • Met Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh several times.
  • Received an endorsement from Hamas
  • Supported Hamas and ISIS-linked Viva Palestina group.
  • Said Hamas should “have tea with the Queen”.
  • Defended the infamous anti-Semitic Hamas supporter Stephen Sizer.
  • Attended event with pro-Hamas and Hezbollah group Naturei Karta.
  • Was named on the speakers list for a conference with Hamas sympathiser Ismail Patel.*

Last night Corbyn’s spokesman said the former Labour leader “is a supporter of justice and human rights for the Palestinian people, peace and a two state solution. He has never been a supporter of Hamas but recognises the need to bring all sides together for dialogue to promote security, peace and justice for both peoples.” In the words of Emily Thornberry, well there we are…

Labour MP Who Posed with Hamas Says Labour has Failed on Antisemitism

In news that sounds more like a Daily Mash article, a Labour MP who previously posed for a photoshoot with Hamas has spoken out against Labour’s inability to deal with its Antisemitism article. No, it isn’t Jeremy Corbyn – he would never admit such a problem…

Andy Slaughter has told  Hammersmith Today that his party was “complacent” on tackling Antisemitism. A fair point, but not one Slaughter is totally unconnected to, given just last year it was revealed he and Corbyn travelled to Israel in 2010 to meet senior Hamas officials. Hamas, of course, a group that wants to wipe Israel off the map and murder Jewish people worldwide…

Corbyn Instagram Takeover Comic Has Links to Hamas

The comic who Jeremy Corbyn has chosen to take over his Instagram during the debate has gigged to raise money for Hamas. Tez Ilyas is the first name on the line up of a ‘Human Appeal‘ event this year. Human Appeal is an organisation with “a record of links with the terrorist group Hamas” according to the Telegraph, which notes that:

“Human Appeal was or is a member of the Union of Good, also known as the 101 Days Campaign, itself designated by the US Government (under both names) as a terrorist organisation created by the Hamas leadership “in order to facilitate the transfer of funds to Hamas.””

Human Appeal had “close links to Hamas” according to the FBI, and is banned by Israel as “part of Hamas’s fundraising network.” Ilyas fits right in with Corbyn’s friends…

Set-Back for Corbyn’s Social Media Support

Labour are very proud of their social media campaigning dominance, in particular on Twitter. So the banning of one of Corbyn’s leading supporters will be a disappointing set-back:

Hard to say how much active campaigning Hamas would have done for their friend and ally Corbyn. Less time wasted on Twitter will give Hamas more time to focus on terrorising Israelis. A small consolation for Jeremy….

Dodgy ‘Counter Terrorism’ Think Tank Run by Hamas Apologist Who Took Corbyn to Meet Them

Staffers in Westminster have been questioning why their offices have been contacted by the bizarrely named ‘Tactics Institute for Security and Counter Terrorism’. And what expertise its director (and only employee), Tom Charles, has in counter-terrorism…

The group was first registered in February and has since been producing pro-Iran, anti-sanctions content, including a letter to trusty Foreign Office minister Mark Field defending the Iranian regime and urging the UK not to impose sanctions. Charles has also written in support of the Maduro regime on his personal blog. Not an auspicious start…

It turns out Charles might have more expertise in terrorism than first thought. In 2011, while ‘Press and Parliamentary Officer’ for the Council for European Palestinian Relations (CEPR) – banned by Israel because of its links to Hamas – Charles took a group of politicians including Jeremy Corbyn to Lebanon to meet the terror group. Corbyn clearly enjoyed the experience enough to accept the CEPR’s subsequent invitation in 2014 to the notorious wreath-laying ceremony…

On his LinkedIn page, Charles also describes his past work on the “dissemination of its key messages in the mainstream of the Labour party” for the Labour Friends of Palestine group. What sort of “key messages” has Charles been disseminating?

Charles’ extensive commentary on Middle East issues includes “Hamas’ image problem”, where Charles bemoanes how they are “already widely seen as a “terrorist” [sic] group in the West” but suggests their new English language website will help Hamas to “improve and modernise its image”. His other insightful articles include “Will 2016 bring respite for Hamas and Gaza?” and “Hamas-Hizballah ‘association’ can’t stop Corbyn surge”. Given the current state of the Labour Party, Charles has clearly been remarkably successful in getting his ideas into the Labour mainstream…
