Farage Backs Sanders

Farage returned to CPAC this year victorious, just one month after Brexit finally got done. Naturally, he went down very well with the Republican, Trumpian audience who enjoyed his usual off-script, call and response populist message. He surprised some in the audience with an unusual message…

“So you really don’t like Bernie Sanders? Can I suggest to you that you are wrong?

You should be backing Bernie Sanders, you should be campaigning for Bernie Sanders, you should be donating money to Bernie Sanders!”

It’s all, of course, to make sure the Democrats lose. After the belated success of #Tories4Corbyn, is it time for #Republicans4Sanders?..

Salma Yaqoob Plagiarises Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Campaign

Momentum’s pick to be the next Labour candidate for West Midlands Metro-Mayor has put out some pretty professional looking material. But sadly for former Respect Party leader Salma Yaqoob, virtually none of it is her own work. Her main campaign video is completely ripped off from the US Democrats’ new socialist firebrand AOC…

Yaqoob isn’t the first Labour politician to nakedly plagiarise US Democrats. Disgraced Labour MP Kate Osamor stole her campaign victory speech from President Obama, and plagiarised her maiden speech. Plenty of Labour Party precedent…

Across the pond Joe Biden plagiarising Neil Kinnock’s ‘first in my family’ speech destroyed his presidential hopes in 1987. Sadly Guido somehow doubts it will do the same to the Momentum backed candidate…

For our American readers, Guido thought an introduction to Yaqoob was in order:

The Corbynisation of the Democratic Party is not all one way…

LISTEN: Obama Slams Corbyn

President Obama has delivered a withering verdict of Jeremy Corbyn: Labour is “disintegrating” because under Jez they have lost touch with “fact and reality.” Obama was speaking in an interview with David Axelrod in which he appeared to forget the Labour leader’s name:

AXELROD: Just a couple more things. Are you worried about the Corbynization of the Democratic Party? Saw the Labor Party just sort of disintegrated in the face of their defeat and move so far left that it’s, you know, in a very — in a very frail state. And there is an impulse to respond to — to the power of Trump by, you know, being as edgy…

OBAMA: On the left.

AXELROD: … on the left.

OBAMA: I don’t worry about that, partly because I think that the Democratic Party has stayed pretty grounded in fact and reality. Trump emerged out of a decade, maybe two, in which the Republican Party, because it had to say no for tactical reasons, moved further and further and further away from what we would consider to be a — a basic consensus around things like climate change or how the economy works. And it started filling up with all kinds of conspiracy theorizing that became kind of common wisdom or conventional wisdom within the Republican Party base. That hasn’t happened in the Democratic Party. I think people like the passion that Bernie brought, but Bernie Sanders is a pretty centrist politician relative to…

AXELROD: Corbyn.

OBAMA: Relative to Corbyn or relative to some of the Republicans.

Can’t wait to hear what President Trump thinks…
