Boris on Biden’s Ukraine Trip: You Travel Surrounded by All Sorts of “Commie Bling”

Boris popped up on CNN last night, once again using his position to help maintain international support for Ukraine. Asked about Biden’s historic trip yesterday, Boris said it was “exactly the right thing for the President to do, I applaud him, and his speech was excellent.”

On the 20-hour train trip, Boris noted it was a trip he knows well:

“you sleep on a double bed surrounded by all sorts of commie bling, because it’s a communist-era train, the presidential train, and every time you bump over the points – and it’s a very very bumpy track – you keep thinking you’ve been hit by a missile.”

Guido imagines even US TV isn’t used to interviews with elder statesmen containing the phrase “commie bling”…

‘Woke’ CNN Anchor Claims Women in Their Fifties Aren’t “In Their Prime”

According to CNN journalist Don Lemon, 51-year old Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley should pack up her bags and go home because she’s “not in her prime“. In the excruciating moment above, he then explains that women are only in their “prime” in their twenties, thirties, and “maybe” forties – although only after remembering the colleague sat to his right is in her forties herself. Prime for what? “Look it up”, says Lemon…

Boris’s CNN Interview: My Chances of Becoming PM Again Are Very Small

Boris made about a hundred headlines in one sit-down audience interview with CNN overnight, in which he covered his mistakes in office, Ukraine and his chances of becoming PM again. He also compared Truss’s mini-budget to the Morecambe and Wise Andre Previn sketch.

He rejected accusations Brexit had damaged the UK economy as “complete and utter nonsense” and “confirmation bias”. On the question of whether he’ll return as PM, he gave a ‘best of’ of his usual choice Borisisms…

“I’ve always said for about 20 years that my chances of becoming PM were about as good as my chances of becoming decapitated by a frisbee, or blinded by a champagne cork or locked in a disused fridge… I then did become PM so my chances of becoming PM again I think are those impossibilia cubed or squared.”

On Ukraine, he accused the Germans and Italians of hoping the country would fold quickly. The French, he claims, “were in denial right up until the last moment.”

The Germans, for all sorts of sound economic reasons, really didn’t want it. I’ll tell you a terrible thing, the German view was at one stage that if it were going to happen, which would be a disaster, it would be better for the whole thing to be over quickly and for Ukraine to fold.”

Rishi could only dream of such interesting headlines…

Cameron Warns Rishi Tax Rises Won’t Make Any Sense at All

Speaking to CNN, David Cameron has warned Rishi that tax rises in the budget “wouldn’t make any sense at all”, comparing the Covid economic crisis to a wartime scenario. Odd times get odder as the former PM joins forces with Labour to campaign against Tory tax rises…

If Cameron has ended his self-mandated silence on his successor’s policies and now plans Blair-like regular rare interventions readers who haven’t had their fill should note he is due to appear before a parliamentary select committee on security next month. Pencil in your calendars now…

CNN Dumps on Buzzfeed

CNN has condemned Buzzfeed for publishing the unverified Trump dossier and spoiling their more careful reporting of allegations against the President-Elect:

“CNN’s decision to publish carefully sourced reporting about the operations of our government is vastly different than Buzzfeed’s decision to publish unsubstantiated memos. The Trump team knows this. They are using Buzzfeed’s decision to deflect from CNN’s reporting, which has been matched by the other major news organizations.

We are fully confident in our reporting. It represents the core of what the First Amendment protects, informing the people of the inner workings of their government; in this case, briefing materials prepared for President Obama and President-elect Trump last week.

We made it clear that we were not publishing any of the details of the 35-page document because we have not corroborated the report’s allegations. Given that members of the Trump transition team have so vocally criticized our reporting, we encourage them to identify, specifically, what they believe to be inaccurate.”

Big fight between two liberal media outlets, even more pressure on Buzzfeed’s decision to publish now…

Trump: BuzzFeed is a Failing Pile of Garbage

The President-Elect says BuzzFeed “is a failing pile of garbage”, then refuses to take a question from CNN because: “You are fake news.”

And responds to the Beeb: “BBC? That’s another beauty.”
