A Camden theatre that receives tens of thousands of taxpayer funding has been slammed for hosting a three-day event with a group that Boris previously described as “apologists for terror”. In April 2021 they were given a £33,671 grant by DCMS…
The Camden People’s Theatre has been accused of a “grotesque lapse of judgement”, compounded after it emerged they’re to soon host one CAGE speaker who previously questioned whether Bin Laden was responsible for 9/11, and another who called Jihadi John a “beautiful young man”. The same week that one Labour council no-platformed comedian Roy Chubby Brown, yet not a peep from Camden council about this…

The event has been highlighted as part of Policy Exchange’s Understanding Islamism project, which documents the activities of Islamists, both violent and non-violent, and their sympathisers Tory MP and Senior Fellow Nus Ghani said:
“It’s absurd that taxpayers’ money has been allocated to events or individuals who have stated that the Islamic State’s violent Jihadi John is a ‘beautiful young man”.
Fellow senior fellow, and Labour MP, Khalid Mahmood also says it “worries me deeply that official Arts Council and UK Government funding could be going towards something that seems designed to offend the British and American public” Guido expects a swift DCMS review…
Tory MP and DCMS Committee Chair Damian Collins was photographed over the weekend speaking in front of a banner for the Islamist sympathising group CAGE at a left wing festival.
Other banners appearing on stage at the festival included those for MEND, an organisation that MPs such as Anna Soubry have publicly distanced themselves from over claims that it engages in “dismissing terrorism” and promoting hostility towards Jews. CAGE are famed for calling Jihadi John “a beautiful, gentle young man”. Counter-extremist foundation Quilliam says both of these groups “clearly fall within the government’s definition of extremism.” Over compensating for allegations of Tory Islamaphobia?
Channel 4 has taken on a new training scheme employee for its flagship current affairs investigation programme Dispatches. However, someone at HR may have been slightly lax with background checks, because the new hire is none other than former CAGE press officer Amandla Thomas-Johnson. Aside from his work at CAGE, Thomas-Johnson used to be head of The Federation of Student Islamic Societies, where he was vocal in his support of Yusuf al-Qaradawi, an Egyptian Islamic theologian who is best known for his support of FGM, Hitler, and the killing of homosexuals, Israelis and apostates. Amandla had this to say about the Irish government’s refusal to grant him entry to the country:
“Sheikh Yusuf Qaradawi is a distinguished scholar whose views are respected by Muslims from around the world. It is a shame to see that yet another prominent Muslim figure is being targeted due to his religious convictions.”
Dispatches is known for its undercover investigations, such as its critically acclaimed film Undercover Mosque, which uncovered hidden extremism in key British Muslim institutions. Guido is sure Thomas-Johnson has plenty of inside expertise in that area…
