Williamson’s Anti-Semitism Hypnosis Attempt Backfires

Fair to say that Chris Williamson’s attempts to use some weird hand signals to convince the crowd that Labour anti-Semitism has improved under Corbyn don’t succeed. It’s not the audience that have blinkers on…

Corbyn: Israel Has “Unbelievably High Levels of Influence” Over the BBC

Fresh from making clear that he doesn’t subscribe to the anti-Semitic “elements” of Hobson’s “brilliant” theories about how “men of a single and peculiar race” control the policy and press of European nations and the “house of Rosthchild” has enabled every European war, Jeremy Corbyn has been uncovered giving his own views about who controls the BBC. You’ll never guess who he thinks is behind it all:

“What this embarrassing saga demonstrates is the contempt that the BBC directors appear to have for the views of the licence fee-payers and the unbelievably high levels of influence that Israel’s government appears to have in the upper echelons of parts of the media.”

The Campaign Against Antisemitism respond:

“Due to the weight of evidence, we have had no option other than to conclude that the reason Mr Corbyn promotes these views is that he himself is an antisemite.”

Not that it will make a jot of difference to his diehard supporters and media outriders who will happily continue twisting themselves in knots to defend the indefensible. He’s just the unluckiest anti-racism campaigner in history…

Sadiq’s Photo Op With 9/11 “Zionist Jews” Conspiracy Theorist He Personally Condemned Last Year

Meet Labour Councillor Nisar Malik – Malik has served as a Labour Councillor in Hounslow since 2014, he was mayor of Hounslow from 2015-6. He’s also a big fan of sharing Jewish conspiracy theories on Facebook…

Last year Malik claimed that Israel and America created ISIS, suggested that they were conducting false flag chemical weapons attacks in Syria and ranted about how the “Zaniest [sic] lobby controls all the media”. Despite already being aware of this, Labour still allowed him to run for re-election in 2018…

Malik was then embroiled in a fresh storm when it emerged a few months later that he had also shared a video suggesting that “Zionist Jews” were behind 9/11. Labour still failed to take action and Malik is still a Labour Councillor – who Sadiq Khan decided to pop down for a PR opportunity with yesterday. Yet another case of Labour wilfully ignoring its chronic anti-Semitism problem…

UPDATE: Sadiq can’t try to claim ignorance as a defence, last year Sadiq personally condemned Malik as anti-Semitic after being shown his Facebook posts and called for him to be kicked out of the Labour Party:

“Some of those remarks are clearly anti-Semitic. I think the Labour Party should be investigating those comments speedily and if those complaints are upheld then anybody with those views should be kicked out of the Labour Party. There must be no place in our party for anybody with racist views. Anti-Semitism is racism.

“We should be a party that is seeking to shape and change people’s views for the better, not being a place where people think it’s ok to join our party with anti-Semitic views.”

The fact that he’s happily posed alongside him less than a year later is the height of hypocrisy…

Labour MPs Call for Corbyn to Explain Himself Over Anti-Semitic Book Endorsement

Labour’s response to Corbyn’s endorsement of a book rife with anti-Semitic conspiracy theories so far has been to release a statement defending the book as a “classic study of imperialism” and sending Rebecca Long-Bailey out on a broadcast round to laugh about the issue. Labour candidates have been suspended for sharing Rothschild conspiracy theories online, this is their woeful response to Corbyn endorsing an entire book of them:

“Jeremy praised the Liberal Hobson’s century-old classic study of imperialism in Africa and Asia. Similarly to other books of its era, Hobson’s work contains outdated and offensive references and observations, and Jeremy completely rejects the antisemitic elements of his analysis.”

Labour MPs have called on Corbyn to explain himself directly, instead of sending out other MPs to defend him and hiding behind statements. Wes Streeting says that “if he wants to defend the indefensible he should go on the airwaves and defend himself”:

Stephen Kinnock is “deeply concerned” and calls on Corbyn to “make a public statement or do an interview about the issue”, Ruth Smeeth retweeted the Jewish Labour Movement’s statement calling for Corbyn to “consider his position”. Other moderate Labour big beasts like Tom Watson have ignored the issue altogether so far. Will they stand up and call out something they know is wrong or just turn a blind eye?

Corbyn’s Gushing Praise for Deeply Anti-Semitic Book

Jeremy Corbyn is engulfed in another personal anti-Semitism storm after Danny Finkelstein uncovered yet another instance of Corbyn endorsing clearly anti-Semitic material. In 2011 Corbyn authored the foreword of a new edition of a 1902 book by John Hobson, Imperialism: A Study. A book Corbyn describes as a “great tome”…

What are Hobson’s views that Corbyn is so keen to endorse? Hobson first sets them out in his book of two years’ earlier on The War in South Africa, which he blames on:

“a small group of international financiers, chiefly German in origin and Jewish in race… The rich and powerful liquor trade… is entirely in the hands of Jews… the stock exchange is needless to say, mostly Jewish… the press of Johannesburg is chiefly their property… we are fighting in order to place a small international oligarchy of mine owners and speculators in power at Pretoria.”

Hobson builds on these theories in Imperialism itself, blaming the “house of Rothschild” for all European wars and railing against “men of a single and peculiar race” who in his view are “are in a unique position to control the policy of nations” and “harpies who suck their gains from every new forced expenditure and every sudden disturbance of public credit”:

“United by the strongest bonds of organisation, always in closest and quickest touch with one as other, situated in the very heart of the business capital of every state, controlled, so far as Europe is concerned, by men of a single and peculiar race, who have behind them many centuries of financial experience, they are in a unique position to control the policy of nations.”

“…there is not a war, a revolution, an anarchist assassination, or any other public shock, which is not gainful to these men; they are harpies who suck their gains from every new forced expenditure and every sudden disturbance of public credit.”

Enter Jeremy Corbyn eight years ago. Corbyn is gushing with praise for Hobson’s analysis which he describes as “both correct and prescient”:

“Hobson’s railing against the commercial interests that fuel the role of the popular press with tales of imperial might, that then lead on to racist caricatures of African and Asian peoples, was both correct and prescient.”

Corbyn also describes Hobson as “brilliant” for supposedly exposing the “pressures that were hard at work” behind imperialist expansion:

“…what is brilliant, and very controversial at the time, is his analysis of the pressures that were hard at work in pushing for a vast national effort, in grabbing new outposts of Empire on distant islands and shores.”

These views were not just “very controversial at the time”, they amount to an entire worldview based around the classic anti-Semitic conspiracy theory that Jewish bankers and the “house of Rothschild” control world affairs for their own profit. Corbyn’s full-throated praise for Hobson’s “analysis” speaks volumes about the ideas at the heart of his own worldview…

Labour Member Suspended Over ‘Jewish Donors’ Remark is Now a Labour Spokesman

Guido readers may remember George McManus, the Momentum-backed member of Labour’s National Policy Forum, who was suspended by the Labour Party for this Facebook post about Tom Watson’s “Jewish donors” last year:

Not only did Labour reinstate McManus after just eight weeks, they’ve actually made him a local election candidate and a Labour spokesman in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Makes a mockery of Labour’s claims to be taking its anti-Semitism problem seriously…
