Board of Deputies: Corbyn ‘Swims in a Sewer of Anti-Semitism’

As Corbyn maintains his silence this morning, President of the Board of Deputies of British Jews Jonathan Arkush ramped up the condemnation on GMB:

“[Jeremy Corbyn]’s fostered a culture in which people feel free to come out with rank anti-Semitism… the political sea, or perhaps I should call it a sewer, in which he swims, is totally polluted by anti-Semitism.”

Labour MP Louise Ellman, former chair of Jewish Labour Movement, says the party is in crisis:

“Jeremy Corbyn has failed to take the correct action… it’s taken us to get to this crisis situation where you can hear the voices of the Jewish community in absolute fury and great distress… Jeremy has failed to act… we’re in a very bad place.”

Her colleague John Mann says he doesn’t know if Corbyn is an anti-Semite:

What are they going to do if he misses PLP tonight?

Corbyn Personally Joined Third Anti-Semitic Facebook Group

Jeremy Corbyn has been active in one anti-Semitic Facebook group. He was a member of a second anti-Semitic Facebook group until last week. And now Guido can reveal he personally joined and is still a member of a third Facebook group filled with extremely anti-Semitic content.

The difference with the other groups is that Corbyn personally and actively joined “The Labour Party Supporter”. He was not added by anybody else. “The Labour Party Supporter” is full of anti-Semitic postings about the Rothschilds, Jews harvesting organs, the Holocaust and conspiracy theories linking Israel and ISIS. Corbyn remains a member of the group this morning.

Corbyn cannot use the excuse that he was added by someone else and didn’t know about it. He decided the group was something he wanted to join, and something he wanted to remain a member of to this very day, despite the huge amount of anti-Semitic material posted in the group for years. Does anyone believe his line that with the mural, the Facebook groups and everything else, he simply didn’t notice the anti-Semitism?

READ: Jewish Leaders’ Corbyn Letter in Full

Today, leaders of British Jewry tell Jeremy Corbyn that enough is enough. We have had enough of hearing that Jeremy Corbyn “opposes antisemitism”, whilst the mainstream majority of British Jews, and their concerns, are ignored by him and those he leads. There is a repeated institutional failure to properly address Jewish concerns and to tackle antisemitism, with the Chakrabarti Report being the most glaring example of this.

Jeremy Corbyn did not invent this form of politics, but he has had a lifetime within it, and now personifies its problems and dangers. He issues empty statements about opposing antisemitism, but does nothing to understand or address it. We conclude that he cannot seriously contemplate antisemitism, because he is so ideologically fixed within a far left worldview that is instinctively hostile to mainstream Jewish communities.

Jewish Groups Dub Labour a Racist Party, Plan Parliament Protest and Call For National Demonstration

Jewish groups have dubbed Labour a “racist party”, announced a protest against Jeremy Corbyn at parliament tomorrow and called for a national demonstration against the Labour leader. In remarkable developments today, the Jewish Leadership Council and the Board of Deputies announced a protest in Westminster tomorrow at 5:30pm where they will deliver a letter of condemnation to the Parliamentary Labour Party:

“The leadership of the Jewish community will be delivering a letter to the Parliamentary Labour Party in advance of its meeting at 6pm. We call on members of our community and all those who oppose antisemitism to join us in Parliament Square at 5:30pm to show solidarity.”

Separately, the Campaign Against Anti-Semitism said they would be organising a national demonstration to take place in London on 8 April. They declared Labour under Corbyn a “racist party”:

“We accuse the Labour Party, its MPs and institutions, of complicity with and promotion of antisemitic racism. In particular, most Labour MPs, with heroic exceptions, have merely wrung their hands and spoken fine words without at any point acting or putting themselves at risk. We are at an historic moment: there is no hiding place for them any longer. The Labour Party under Jeremy Corbyn is now a racist party and to be silent now is to condone.”

Corbyn meanwhile is reportedly set to bottle tomorrow’s PLP meeting. Three Jewish groups have announced protests against Corbyn and still Labour moderates do nothing…

UPDATE: Chuka making a brave statement here:

Watson Wrongly Claims Corbyn Apologised for Anti-Semitic Mural Comments

Tom Watson was wrong to claim Jeremy Corbyn has apologised for his anti-Semitic mural comments. Confronted with the image on Marr this morning, an uncomfortable Watson claimed Jezza has apologised for defending the mural in a Facebook post:

“That is why Jeremy has expressed deep regret and apologised for that and actually said it was right the mural was taken down.”

Actually Corbyn refused to apologise for his comment, saying he only regreted not “looking more closely” at the mural – that statement caused outrage in the PLP this weekend precisely because it stopped short of an apology. Watson clearly wishes Corbyn would just say sorry…

Corbyn Personally Supported Multiple Anti-Semites

Corbyn’s personal support for an anti-Semitic cartoon is just one of several times he has actively defended anti-Semites. There was the letter Corbyn wrote in defence of Stephen Sizer, who shared anti-Semitic material linking Jews and Israel to the 9/11 attacks. Corbyn blamed Sizer’s anti-Semitic postings on a “technical oversight” and implied “certain individuals” were targeting him.

Then there was Paul Eisen, the infamous self-professed Holocaust denier who wrote:

“I question that there ever existed homicidal gas-chambers… Deny the Holocaust! For my money, a child of six can see that something’s not right about the Holocaust narrative… For me, “Holocaust Denier” is a label I accept.”

Corbyn admitted supporting Eisen’s Deir Yassen Remembered group. Many mainstream Palestinians view the group as anti-Semitic and riddled with Holocaust deniers. The group included Gill Kaffash, a former Labour councillor and associate of Corbyn for many years. She once told an Iranian news agency that the Holocaust needed to be “further examined to uncover the truth”. Corbyn said he couldn’t remember if he had donated money to Eisen and Kaffash’s campaign. Eisen said he did donate. This is Corbyn at a meeting held by the organisation in 2013. Corbyn was associated with the group for 10 years.

Sheikh Raed Salah was found by a British judge to have used the blood libel. He was sentenced to eight months in prison in Israel for inciting anti-Jewish racism. Corbyn called Salah “a very honoured citizen” and invited him for tea on the terrace in parliament. This tweet from Corbyn’s account is still up:

In October 2014 Corbyn wrote an article for the Morning Star admitting he attended a wreath-laying ceremony at the grave of a Palestinian terrorist who carried out the Munich massacre. Corbyn wrote that wreaths were laid “on the graves of others killed by Mossad agents in Paris”. Atef Bseiso was the PLO head of intelligence and was one of the Palestinian terrorists who was involved in Munich. Bseiso was shot dead by Israeli agents in Paris. The Sunday Times sent a reporter to the graveyard of the “martyrs” that Corbyn visited. Bseiso is buried there.

If a Labour councillor had done any of the above, they would be immediately suspended by the party’s compliance unit. As of 1pm on Saturday all Labour moderates have done in response to the Corbyn mural revelations is send a few critical tweets. If they won’t do anything now, what would it take for them to ever act?

Corbyn Expresses “Sincere Regret” But Refuses to Apologise Over Anti-Semitic Mural

New Corbyn statement:

“In 2012 I made a general comment about the removal of public art on grounds of freedom of speech. My comment referred to the destruction of the mural “Man at the Crossroads” by Diego Rivera on the Rockefeller Center.

“That is in no way comparable with the mural in the original post. I sincerely regret that I did not look more closely at the image I was commenting on, the contents of which are deeply disturbing and anti- Semitic. I wholeheartedly support its removal.

“I am opposed to the production of anti-Semitic material of any kind. and the defence of free speech cannot be used as a justification for the promotion of anti-Semitism in any form. That is a view I’ve
always held.”

Corbyn’s statement is of course totally disingenuous. He falsely claims he only made a “general” comment and did not look “closely” at the mural. This is untrue… he specifically commented on the mural and praised it…

Come on then Labour moderates… Today the Absolute Boy has been exposed for defending an anti-Semitic mural and then sacked a Remainer to distract from it… You gonna do anything or stay silent as usual?

Berger Asks Corbyn to Explain Comment Defending Anti-Semitic Mural

Labour MP Luciana Berger has contacted the Leader’s Office asking them to explain this Facebook comment purporting to show Jeremy Corbyn defending an anti-Semitic mural.

The comment was reported by the JC a couple of years ago, but it appears his office again declined to comment. At the time of going to pixel Luciana still hasn’t had an answer. Surely Jezza can’t really have written that?

UPDATE: Corbyn’s spokesman says: “In 2012, Jeremy was responding to concerns about the removal of public art on grounds of freedom of speech. However, the mural was offensive, used antisemitic imagery, which has no place in our society, and it is right that it was removed”. So why did he post that comment? This is not good…

Days Since Last Labour Anti-Semitic Incident: Zero

This morning Alan Bull was a Labour council candidate in Peterborough.

This evening he is not.

Corbyn Is Member of Second Anti-Semitic Facebook Group

Jeremy Corbyn told the launch of Labour’s local election campaign this morning that he will not delete his Facebook account: “Social media is a great way of communicating because our message doesn’t have to be moderated”. That’s one way of putting it.

Guido can reveal Corbyn is still a member of a second anti-Semitic Facebook group called “History of Palestine”. Here’s just a few examples of the vast amount of extremely anti-Semitic content regularly posted in the group. As of this morning he remains a member. Not much “moderation” going on, as Jezza would say…

To be a member of one anti-Semitic Facebook group could be considered misfortune, but two…

UPDATE: Corbyn has removed himself from the group following our story.

Corbyn Slaps Down McDonnell Over Anti-Semitic Facebook Group

Team Jezza have slapped down John McDonnell for his attempted explanation of Corbyn’s presence in that anti-Semitic Facebook group. McDonnell said this morning on Sky:

“He was added, and then participated in some of the debate, then when he discovered there were some people in it who were expressing anti-Semitic views he immediately came out of that.”

So McDonnell says Corbyn left the group when he became aware of its anti-Semitism in 2015, but did nothing about it and didn’t report the members or the group to the party. That’s not a good look…

Team Corbyn say McDonnell’s statement to Sky was “not right”, that he left a number of Facebook groups when he became leader and claim he wasn’t aware of any anti-Semitism at the time. McDonnell keeps stiching-up the boss at the moment…

Corbyn’s Posts in Anti-Semitic Facebook Group

A couple of weeks back Labour types and lefty news outlets got very upset with Dom Raab for once being a member of a Facebook group that contradicted current housing policy. Wait ’til they see that Jeremy Corbyn was a very active member of an anti-Israel Facebook group full of the most extreme anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial, ridden with white supremacists. Did Corbyn not read what he was commenting on?

Read the full report from David Collier here. Chris Williamson and Paul Mason were also members. Grim stuff.

Split Among Loony Labour Anti-Semites

Hat-tip to Dave Rich for this tale about a farcical split on Labour’s loony left:

Labour Against the Witchhunt is a group set up with the support of Labour Party Marxists to defend Labour members accused of anti-Semitism. They are meeting at the Calthorpe Arms on Gray’s Inn Road at midday Saturday to call for “the immediate lifting of all suspensions and expulsions from Labour Party membership which were… connected to the ‘anti-Semitism’ smear campaign”. Cuckoo.

However, Labour Against the Witchhunt also want to expel some of their own members who they deem to be really anti-Semitic, including the infamous Gerry Downing, who ranted about the “Jewish question”. In response, Downing has set up his own rival group called Reject Bogus Left Antisemitism. Splitter!

Downing and Reject Bogus Left Antisemitism are holding their first meeting on Saturday. Also at midday. Also at the Calthorpe Arms on Gray’s Inn Road. This poor pub will be hosting at the same time one group of Labour cranks who want to keep anti-Semites in Labour, and a second rival group deemed beyond the pale by the first. You couldn’t make it up…

Corbyn Heckled At Chanukah Party

Jeremy Corbyn was heckled last night at the Jewish Labour Movement’s Chanukah Party and was called a “liar” during a speech in which he claimed there is “zero tolerance” of anti-Semitism in Labour. Another heckler shouted “what about Ken?” and “you hate us” as Corbyn addressed the room. According to the Jewish Chronicle, JLM’s parliamentary chair Luciana Berger was unable to attend. Corbyn at least made an effort, he usually has appointment clashes when it comes to Jewish/Israeli events…

Naz Shah Now Against Promoting Extremist Content on Twitter

Naz Shah is getting very angry in the Commons about Trump promoting “extremist content” on Twitter. That’s the same Naz Shah who posted that Jews should be kicked out of the Middle East, warned “the Jews are rallying” and shared pro-Hamas tweets. Stunning lack of self-awareness.

UPDATE: Tory MP Andrew Percy comments:

“Everyone agrees Britain First are a disgusting set of hate peddlers, though the Labour Party are in no position to lecture on this matter. Not only have scores of their members shared extremist content or peddled racist conspiracy theories, they are led by a man who openly describes a terrorist organisations that wish to wipe out an entire race of people as his ‘friends’. Of course President Trump should be called out on his tweets, though Labour might do well to spend as much time on their own problem with extremism.”

Terror Raid Labour Member Suspended In Anti-Semitism Probe

Yet another Labour Party member accused of anti-Semitism has been suspended, Guido can report. Last night a Labour councillor posted an alarming thread detailing anti-Semitic posts by an unnamed party member. In response to the revelations, Guido can reveal Labour has tonight suspended a Hendon CLP member called Laura Stuart, who also uses the alias Laura McDonald. Labour is investigating these grim anti-Semitic posts apparently made on her Facebook page:

Stuart has been identified by multiple sources as having a hand in the @gazaboatconvoy twitter account. The notorious account, which some say is run by more than one individual, has posted a string of anti-Semitic tweets:

A 2010 tweet associates Stuart with the account:

This article under Stuart’s byline on the website ‘5PillarsUK’ also links to the account and describes it as hers.

Stuart was arrested in a dawn raid by police and quizzed over her social media posts:

“My arrest took place on the 5th November 2015… The accusation on the bail form was that I shared media that could promote terrorism.”

She was released and there was no prosecution. Stuart has also:

  • Featured in videos for extremist-linked group CAGE, who are infamous for calling Jihadi John “beautiful“;
  • Worked with the Muslim Public Affairs Committee (MPAC), a controversial lobby group which critics said organised to de-select Labour MPs supportive of Israel.

A Labour Party spokesperson said:

“A Labour Party member has been suspended from the Labour Party pending an investigation into this case. The Labour Party is committed to challenging and campaigning against antisemitism in all its forms.”

At least this time Labour acted before Guido even published the story…

UPDATE: LFI call for expulsion. LFI director Jennifer Gerber said:

“This vile hatred of Jews and the Jewish state should have absolutely no place in the Labour Party. The leadership must act to expel such individuals immediately or else Labour will continue to be seen as a safe-space for antisemites.”

Hitler Row Labour Candidate: British Government Did 7/7 Bombings

Remarkably Labour still won’t comment on Guido’s story about their candidate Naz Khan defending Hitler and asking “what good have the Jews done?”. Even more extraordinarily they are keeping her as a candidate. Will they when they see this?

Above is a Facebook post which claimed the “government plotted 7/7 attacks to boost Iraq war support”, pushing conspiracy theories that “the four British Muslims involved were tricked by the authorities into taking part”. Naz Khan then commented below: “Thought provoking… an eye opener, not to believe everything in the news”. Not only is this person clearly anti-Semitic, she seems to believe it is possible the government carried out the 7/7 bombings. The sort of person Labour want as a candidate in Bradford…

H/T Harry’s Place

Labour Candidate: ‘What Good Have the Jews Done?’

Labour has shortlisted as a potential candidate a woman who posted online: “what have the Jews done good in this world?”. Nasreen Khan, a former RESPECT activist now a Labour member, is on a two person shortlist to fight a council seat in Bradford next year. Khan has previously posted:

“It’s such a shame that the history teachers in our school never taught us this but they are the first to start brainwashing us and our children into thinking the bad guy was Hitler. What have the Jews done good in this world?”

Khan also said:

“The Jews have reaped the rewards of playing victims. Enough is enough!”

Last night Khan said her comments were “inappropriate and unacceptable”. A Labour spokesman said the party does not comment on selections. Unbelievable that Labour won’t comment on this…

Keep Hezbollah Members in Labour, Local Party Hears

At a meeting of the Labour Party’s Queens Park branch last night a member argued that supporters of Hezbollah should be allowed to remain in the party. An astonishing account of the meeting was tweeted by a Labour member who took part in the discussion:

As Camden Tory council candidate Henry Newman puts it:

“Last night Hampstead and Kilburn Conservatives were proud to mark a century since the Balfour Declaration. It’s frankly terrifying that Labour activists could be asked to justify why murderous terrorists such as Hezbollah should have no place in the Labour Party. Or that condemning terrorists could be seen as sowing division within Labour? When will the Labour Party get a grip on antisemitism?”

What is going on in Labour at the moment?
