Donald Trump on whether he plans to run for president again in 2028:
“No, probably not. I’d like to run, I have the best poll numbers I’ve ever had. People love the tariffs, and they love the trade deals and they love the foreign countries aren’t ripping us off. I won every swing state, I won the popular vote by millions of votes… my poll numbers are better now, much better than during the election…”
Douglas Alexander – a friend of Starmer’s – was asked on Sky News if the PM will be in post at the next election. He wasn’t so sure himself:
“I think he will. There are no certainties but of course I think he will lead and I think he should because, frankly, on the biggest call in this parliament he’s exercised the right judgment, which is to keep us out of someone else’s war.”
