Nicky Morgan tells Theresa May she wants to stay on the backbenches…
“I think that David Cameron, I think we are going to miss him in British politics, I think we are going to miss him in the Conservative party, because he appealed to parts of the country which we hadn’t appealed to as a party before he became leader and I’d be very clear that I only won my marginal seat because of his leadership and the appeal he had to the British public. And I think that Theresa probably isn’t going to reach into those parts in the same way.”
Speaking to Sky News off the back of Rachel Reeves’ Air Passenger Duty hike, Ryanair chief executive Michael O’Leary said:
“Labour is dependent on those Red Wall seats, and yet every move she makes poisons economic growth and damages the UK’s recovery… it’s the Chancellor who stumbles from policy misstep to policy misstep… I think her policy decisions are incredibly stupid.”
