“I was one of the Ministers who would go to the Council of Europe and be part of the Council of Ministers and see how the decisions were made…Going to that, and seeing how Europe worked as a sort of a legislative arena, I was shocked. The way the EU worked as an establishment, made me look into it – and I then became an Outer and looked into other things… I looked at how many times in the last five years had Britain – when it voted down a vote -how many times had that vote not gone through. Not one instance. So that shows that we didn’t have any say there.”
