When party-swapping Winston McKenzie quit UKIP last month, Guido rather facetiously asked if he would be joining the Greens or the SNP next. Well, today Winston has gone one better and joined the English Democrats. Party chairman Robin Tilbrook says:
“Winston is a great character… His journey from the old national identity of British to the re-emerging national identity of English is very welcome”
It certainly is quite a journey. Here is Winston’s political career in full:
Labour (until 2001)
Liberal Democrats (2002–2003)
Veritas (2005)
Conservative (2006–2008)
Independent (2008–2009, 2005, 2003–2004)
Unity Party (2009)
UKIP (2009–2015)
English Democrats (2015-present)
Almost a full house…
It wouldn’t be a Winston McKenzie interview without him slagging off London as a “complete dump“. Winston has now quit UKIP, the fourth party he has been through after spells with the LibDems and the Tories. Will it be the SNP or the Greens next?
