Why does Impress funder Max Mosley want to gag the press? So they are prevented from publishing stories like this in today’s Sun, revealing Mosley once wrote a letter demanding an end to “coloured immigration” and defending his fascist father.

His opinion of “the Jew” is a nice touch too. How can Impress take £4 million from a man with such views? And why has the government given them state recognition?

Responding to Jeremy Corbyn’s decision to go to notorious Israel hater Hatem Bazian’s book launch, Jennifer Gerber, Director of Labour Friends of Israel, told Guido Fawkes:

We find it strange that Jeremy Corbyn would think it’s appropriate to attend an event organised by a group who say the party he leads is “indebted to Jewish financiers with Zionist leanings”. We hope in future Jeremy will think more carefully about the organisations he associates himself with.

Joe Glasman, Head of Political and Government Investigations at Campaign Against Antisemitism also told Guido:

A week ago, the Deputy Leader of the Labour Party, Tom Watson admitted the presence of antisemitism in the Labour Party and promised firm action against it. It seems that this is Jeremy Corbyn’s response. Whilst other MPs were visiting Israel’s Holocaust memorial, Jeremy Corbyn said he was too busy. Instead, he has taken time out of his onerous schedule to meet Hatem Bazian, who has been closely associated with Islamist antisemitism in public, at an event held by a charity which organises an annual march in support of antisemitic genocidal terrorist group Hezbollah. This is unmistakable in its symbolism and signals that Jeremy Corbyn is defying Tom Watson and the Jewish community.

Labour’s confused response to Trump has seen them favourably compare him to Jeremy Corbyn, then attack Theresa May for seeking an alliance with the President-elect. Meanwhile the Labour Twitterati are mocking the Tory row over whether they should use Farage as an intermediary. Turns out Labour have their own hotline to Trump: on Wednesday morning Tom Watson messaged Piers Morgan asking him to put in a good word:

This weekend Jeremy Corbyn gave an interview to the Sunday Mirror threatening to vote against Article 50 if “access” to to the single market wasn’t guaranteed. A meaningless platitude – everyone has access to the single market.

On Sunday morning Corbyn’s spinners briefed journalists that the Sunday Mirror article was wrong and that Labour would not be voting against Article 50. Tom Watson then publicly slapped Corbyn down, insisting Labour would vote to trigger Article 50: “The people have spoken and we will respect their decision”. A humiliation for the leader.

On Monday, Shadow Brexit Secretary Keir Starmer confirmed the Corbyn interview was wrong and Labour would not vote against: “No. We will not frustrate the process by simply voting down Article 50”. Then Corbyn himself was forced to tweet a clarification of his own interview:

There must be transparency and accountability on Brexit terms. We won’t block Article 50 but will fight for a Brexit that works for Britain

Sorted? Nope. Labour’s by-election candidate in Richmond Park, Christian Wolmar, then said that he would defy his party’s position on Article 50: “I think personally I would vote against it”. That Labour’s inability to produce a coherent position on Brexit hasn’t made bigger news is testament to how irrelevant the party has become…
