The Independent’s puff piece for Remain Tory MP Neil Carmichael and his Conservative Group for Europe event yesterday makes it sound as if someone cared. According to the Indy there were “loud cheers” at the “80-strong reception”, where “Pro-EU Tory rebels” “revealed” a “plan” to “fight a hard Brexit”. You have to wait for the final six words of the Indy news story for it to completely unravel: “no other current MPs were present”. What about those “Tory rebels?” It was one man’s lone whinge in a room with a bunch of kids and some health lobbyists. Makes NiMo look serious.
