Boris Announces International Ukraine Support Group, £175 Million New Aid Package

Boris has announced the UK will join Canada and the Netherlands in forming an International Ukraine Support Group, which pledge to offer humanitarian, economic, and defensive support to Ukraine. The hope is “many more countries” will join the group shortly, with the Boris also confirming the UK will send an additional £175 million aid package soon. Bringing the total support to £400 million…

Revealing the plans alongside Canadian PM Justin Trudeau and Dutch PM Mark Rutte, Boris also reiterated the grim comments made by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz earlier today on Europe’s dependence on Russian energy, warning “we cannot simply close down use of oil and gas overnight, even from Russia.” Rutte added this was “a painful reality“. Maybe if we tapped into our own gas reserves…

UPDATEBoris has now confirmed he will set out an “energy supply strategy” in the coming days to address soaring costs, including the potential to use “more of our own hydrocarbons”.

Trudeau’s Guide to LGBTQIA+ Solidarity

Yesterday Canadians went to polling booths and voted Trudeau back into power with fewer seats, losing 2 cabinet members. Since he’s in the news Guido thought he would dig out this video of the re-elected PM peacocking his liberal credentials. Congratulations Mr. Trudeau on your re-election…

Canadian Minister Who Called Taliban “Our Brothers” Loses Seat

Although Justin Trudeau may have just about clung to power last night, having blown $610 million on a pandemic election that still left him with a minority government, he’ll nonetheless have to fill a couple of spots at his cabinet table after two Liberal incumbents managed to lose their seats to Conservative challengers. One unlucky lieutenant to fall on her sword is none other than Minister for Women and Gender Equality, Maryam Monsef, who co-conspirators will remember for her unifying message to the Taliban back in August:

“I want to take this opportunity to speak to our brothersthe Taliban. We call on you to ensure the safe and secure passage of any individual in Afghanistan out of the country.”

Monsef later clarified that it was a “cultural reference“, which her constituents have now acknowledged by showing her the door anyway. She lost to political novice Michelle Ferreri, who’s never held public office before, and yet still beat Monsef 41% to 33% for the Peterborough—Kawartha seat. This is only the second time in 60 years that Peterborough—Kawartha has elected a candidate from the opposition party. Go woke, go broke…

Stalling Trudeau Threatens Another Snap Election if he Fails to Win Majority

A desperate Justin Trudeau used last night’s first televised Canadian election debate to threaten another snap election within 18 months should he fail to win a majority. It would be the eighth federal vote in 19 years…

As Guido reported earlier in the week, despite calling an election presuming he’d win an easy majority, the Liberal leader is now behind the Canadian Conservatives in almost every poll, some putting him as far as eight points behind.

With just 18 days to go, this may prove to be one of the most interesting Western elections for a while…

Trudeau Trailing in Snap Election He Called

Justin Trudeau is on track to do a full-on Theresa May next month, with the latest polling showing his Liberal Party is now trailing the Conservatives by full eight points ahead of September’s snap election. An election which, it’s worth pointing out, Trudeau himself called to secure a majority and – presumably – crush the saboteurs…

Having led most polls for the better part of a year, hemorrhaging this much support so quickly is quite the achievement. Proposing nonsense policies like a national carbon tax mid-pandemic whilst simultaneously botching the vaccine rollout and then taking the electorate’s votes for granted is certainly one way to turn off potential voters. Trotting out your Equality Minister to call the Taliban “Our Brothers” is another…

Trudeau is G7 Carbon Dioxide Emissions Bad Boy

In response to today’s doomsday climate report, Boris claims that “the UK is leading the way, decarbonising our economy faster than any country in the G20 over the last two decades.” The UK now has the second-lowest CO2 emissions per capita in the G7. Only nuclear energy powered France has lower emissions. Britain’s doing far better than most when it comes to tackling climate change and reducing carbon emissions:

Canada, on the other hand, has the highest levels of carbon dioxide emissions per capita out of the entire G20 – pumping out more than triple that of the UK. Liberal golden boy Trudeau’s halo is tarnished by emissions…

China makes up the largest share of world’s carbon emissions at 29.1% followed by the US and then India – shares which are primarily a function of their population sizes. However, is it any wonder that developing country India is reluctant to commit to net zero, especially when its emissions are one tenth per capita that of Canada’s
