Head of UK Customs Confirms No Infrastructure Needed On Irish Border

The head of UK customs Jon Thompson has confirmed that in the event of no deal, no hard border will be constructed in Northern Ireland. This follows Leo Varadkar’s repeated statements to the same effect. The Irish border issue has been utilised for political ends. In reality no one will construct a hard border. It simply isn’t going to happen.
