To add insult to injury Sopel has tweeted on Musk’s X a whopping 16 times since that lone Bluesky post, including with original thoughts such as reflections on his “obsession” with hand sanitisers. Still licking their wounds from Trump’s inauguration, the progressive media remain desperate to sensationalise the new President’s every move. Jon Sopel took to LBC today to rail against Trump’s flurry of executive orders. According to the centrist dad, streamlining governance is a red flag and now qualifies as “emperor”-like behaviour:
“Donald Trump is extending presidential authority to the levels of an emperor and trying to do stuff that no one would normally dare do… he is finding absolutely next to zero resistance from Congress… it’s now all about Donald Trump and him amassing huge power.”
At least Starmer can rest assured he’ll never be accused of emperorship. Meanwhile, Sopel’s modest band of followers on BlueSky are still waiting for his next great insight to appear in 2025…
