Infighting continues in Labourland, as Diane Abbott wrote a scathing letter last night to her own party, claiming that she “will not get a fair hearing” in the racism investigation into her because… of racism. The Labour MP had the whip withdrawn over her notorious comments about Jewish people to the Observer. Rebuking the party’s investigation, she wrote:
“The internal Labour Party disciplinary against me is fraudulent…As a Black woman, and someone on the left of the Labour Party, I have unfortunately been forced to reach the conclusion that I will not get a fair hearing from this Labour leadership.”
Her close friend Jeremy Corbyn was quick to her defence, claiming that the “the latest stitch up” against Abbott a “disgrace“. Fellow Labour lefty MP Beth Winter joined in, calling the party’s candidate selection process “undemocratic and discriminatory” after she lost out to a front bench colleague. Government in waiting…
Far left MP Beth Winter is the latest victim of the Starmtroopers. After North of Tyne Mayor Jamie Driscoll was blocked from running in the North East’s inaugural mayoral election, Sir Keir’s selection machine has now brought an end to the political ambitions of another socialist, with Winter failing to win the candidacy for the new seat of Merthyr Tydfil and Upper Cynon. Gerald Jones, the sitting MP for Merthyr Tydfil & Rhymney, won the day. Winter’s being left out in the cold…
She announced the big news this afternoon, and is now even threatening legal action:
“I’m disappointed by this very close result and the unjust manner in which it came about, which leaves major questions outstanding. In this contest, I sought reselection as Labour’s candidate on a platform of solidarity with striking rail workers, nurses, and teaching staff, all of who I have been proud to stand with on the picket line… However, unacceptable obstacles were placed in the way of this grassroots campaign, undermining the democratic process. The online only process was bulldozed through in just two weeks, with no face-to-face hustings. This was not a fair contest, and I will be taking advice and soundings in the days ahead about my next steps…“
Winter is perhaps best known for shouting at tea. Now she’s been mugged off…
There was incredulity at the Welsh Select Committee yesterday afternoon when loony left Labour MP Beth Winter went out of her way to condemn the armed forces for recruiting in her part of the country. Hitting out at the consensus of the committee who had been thanking the military for their role in deploying the Covid vaccine. This is the second bizarre thing Beth has decided to hector on since becoming elected in 2019, after she shouted at tea…
Wales Minister David TC Davies, along with a number of other MPs on the committee endorsed a unified thanks from the committee to the army for their work, however Beth Winter was viscerally opposed to being included in the debt of gratitude:
“Before I begin I do have to beg to differ with the comments regarding the armed forces… yes the armed forces make a vital contribution, but any recruits of young people must be managed carefully and it must be an informed choice for young people… a lot of young people enter the armed forces not through choice but through lack of opportunities in the community so I do beg to differ on that point”
Jamie Wallis MP is, not unsurprisingly, demanding Winters apologises for her “suggestion that our armed forces… would prey on vulnerable children to hit recruitment targets”. The same week as fellow loony left MP Zarah Sultana called on the government to prioritise covid jabs for incarcerated prisoners, is it any wonder why the public refused to back them in 2019…
With babyfaced Socialist Campaign Group member Dan Carden resigning today, it can be hard to keep track of all the young loony left Labour MPs. As they make more headlines becoming increasingly assertive against Sir Keir, Guido today brings you a comprehensive guide to keeping track of the loony left’s 2019 intake. Some have already made quite a name for themselves…
All are members of the Socialist Campaign Group – now boasting 34 MPs, along with stalwarts John McDonnell, Diane Abbott, and Jeremy Corbyn. It is striking how many replaced former centrist Labour MPs from Chuka Umunna and Mike Gapes to Luciana Berger, Ann Coffey, and Chris Leslie. Now hard left cranks sit in their former seats – many cushioned by massive majorities. What a stunning success ChangeUK was…
Three MPs – Beth Winter, Nadia Whittome and Olivia Blake – have been “resigned”:from their roles as Shadow PPSs after voting against the government’s Overseas Operation Bill, against the party whip to abstain. Will the last Corbynista to leave the shadow front bench please turn the light off…
Nadia Whittome has told Peston she doesn’t consider herself resigned as it was a one-line whip, however a Labour spokesperson tells Guido all three are definitely gone as PPSs. Sacked in other words. Nadia doesn’t seem to understand she was sacked and the “resignation” was entirely euphemistic…
Rishi Sunak’s £180 smart flask caught the ire of left-wingers looking for something to be angry about this week, not least the Mirror’s Mikey Smith whose unbridled fury at someone owning a flask resulted in 18 Tweets and two articles. Totally normal…
Another leftie who joined in was Beth Winter MP, who took to Twitter to boast that her mug was only £3, and perhaps Rishi’s expensive gadget is the reason he batted away her suggestion of a wealth tax this week. Contrary to the down-to-earth image Beth’s trying to portray, her register of interests shows that since the election she’s received nearly £4,000 from the University and College Union – for a mere 10 hour’s work. On top of her £80,000 MP wage…
At £400 per hour it would take less than a half-an-hour shift for bourgeois Beth to earn enough to buy a swanky Sunak flask all for herself…
