Morning Star: Human Rights Watch Lying About Venezuela

Remember the paper produced by this clown Ben Chacko is delivered to Corbyn’s office every morning. He seems to think Human Rights Watch are involved in some sort of right-wing, CIA plot…

Red Len’s “Great Value” to the Morning Star

Pro-Assad agitprop rag the Morning Star has endorsed Len McCluskey for the Unite leadership. Their floppy-haired, Oxford-educated editor Ben Chacko explains:

“Mr McCluskey’s support and advice has been of great value to us throughout his leadership.”

Chacko’s paper is in line to receive a good deal more than “advice” should Red Len be re-appointed General Secretary of Britain’s wealthiest union. During McCluskey’s current tenure “support” meant thousands of full-colour Morning Star subscription mail shots sent out to Unite branches across Britain at members’ expense. In one leaflet McCluskey decrees:

“There is no substitute for reading the paper but you could also take out a shareholding in the Morning Star and send a regular monthly sum to the paper’s Fighting Fund.”

Len’s “support” has indeed been of “great value” to the Morning Star, least they can do is repay the favour…

Morning Star’s Shining Stars

Jeremy Corbyn’s favourite newspaper the Morning Star hit a new low this morning with a front page welcoming Aleppo’s ‘final liberation’ at the hands of bombs and death squads. Who are the Assad-loving commies behind the paper? Follow MediaGuido into the Morning Star’s newsroom, which features “a dozen state-of-the-art iMacs, Palestinian flag and a pinup front-page from the paper commemorating the late trade union leader Bob Crow.”

Ben Chacko – Editor

Only 32. Studied at St John’s College, Oxford. Dad was an actuary, mother was a software engineer. Brother is a prominent tax barrister. Spent time in China – presumably picking up a few political ideas. Girly-haired posho.

Lamiat Sabin* – Parliamentary News Reporter and Deputy News Editor

Oddly, for a writer for a paper founded by the Communist Party, she used to work on the Express Online desk where she wrote pieces like: “Revolutionary vest ‘helps slim and tone’ bodies in time for summer.” Now cheer-leading for a different revolution. Went to school at the posh Holland Park, known as the “socialist Eton” where Tony Benn sent his kids.

John Haylett – Political Editor

Former editor of the paper resurrected as pol ed. Once wrote: “Every Morning Star staff member is told bluntly at interview: ‘The wages are crap. We work at the paper because we are politically committed to its aims.’ ” Honest commie boss.

Conrad Landin – Industrial Reporter

Studied at Christ’s College, Cambridge where he learned his radicalism: he was once fined for disrupting a speech by David Willetts and suspended from the university’s debating society. Now spends his time defending Castro on Twitter. Brother Axel worked for Tower Hamlets wrong ‘un Lutfur Rahman. Remembered by one classmate as a “complete loser”. Privileged bore.

The useful idiots pontificating in support of Russia’s foreign policy are a team of posho commies barely out of university… About their level.

*A previous version of this article described Lamiat Sabin as “a commie”, she would like it to be known she is not a commie. (February 25, 2019)
