More Polar Bears Now Than When Al Gore Said They Were Becoming Extinct

As it’s International Polar Bear Day today, Gaia gives you the latest news on the cuddly carnivorous critters. Beliefs about the future extinction of the polar bear have been near universal. Here’s the WWF, for example:

“The Arctic is warming about twice as fast as the global average, causing the ice that polar bears depend on to melt away. Loss of sea ice also threatens the bear’s main prey, seals, which need the ice to raise their young.”

In 2005 there were around 22,500 polar bears on earth. Since 2005 the polar bear population has rocketed 30% to about 30,000 bears, the highest in 50 years. The above video from the Global Warming Policy Foundation is an interesting corrective to the experts…

Al Gore Wants to Gag Climate Sceptics With Mafia Laws

gore-father

The climate lobby in the US is instigating a crackdown on dissenters, with several states looking at using the law to punish companies who stray from their view on global warming. Stood side by side with Al Gore, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced that state officials intend to investigate whether fossil fuel conglomerates like ExxonMobil can be charged with fraud for doubting the extent of climate change. Schneiderman says:

“If there are companies, whether they’re utilities, whether they’re fossil fuel companies, committing fraud in an effort to maximize their short-term profits at the expense of the people we represent…we want to expose it and want to pursue them to the fullest extent of the law…The First Amendment does not give you the right to commit fraud.”

How are they planning to prevent the First Amendment right to free speech from protecting climate-dissenting companies? By using the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, better known as RICO, and made famous for bringing down top Mafia dons and other organized crime figures. Dissenting companies would be charged as having violated RICO by committing fraud, lumped in with mob bosses running protection rackets, money laundering, and drug trafficking. Which group sound like the ones running a protection racket to you?

Al Gore Attacks Rudd’s Subsidy Slashing Plans

rudd gore

Al Gore made time during his busy ‘international statesman’ schedule today to attack Amber Rudd’s plans to cut green crap. Speaking at the “Beyond Paris” event in London, Gore told the audience “I try to never interfere in the politics of another nation“, before doing exactly that:

“This country’s commitment to zero carbon buildings has been cancelled, the green deal cancelled… the renewable obligation and contracts for difference gone, public ownership of the green investment bank has been privatised …Will our children ask, why didn’t you act? Or [will they] ask, how did you find the moral courage to rise up and change?”

Al Gore believes belives that the world is facing man-made induced catastphic climate change. Here’s a video of Gore claiming he invented the internet…

She’s making all the right enemies…

Al Gore To End Global Warming

Al Gore has finally unveiled his plan to save the world from catastrophic climate change – he’s going to put on a Live Earth global concert. Again. The former US Vice President jetted into Davos to make the announcement that he will be hosting what he hopes to be the largest global campaign in history – a series of concerts taking place across seven continents on 18th June.

Gore’s last Live Earth  event in 2007 garnered the unfortunate moniker “Private Jets for Climate Change” after 150 performers flew a total of 222,623 miles to tell people to walk to work. He was joined on stage by Pharrell ‘Happy’ Williams and producer Kevin Wall. Williams – who does his bit for the planet as creative director of Bionic Yarn, a company that turns recycled plastic into clothes – will be also be acting as creative director of Live Earth and he has high hopes for the event.

“Instead of just having people perform, we literally are going to have humanity harmonise all at once.”

Kevin Wall said: “The power of music is unique, because it’s borderless, without language, Pharrell will use that power. When you combine music with a message, you can effect change.” Damn hippies.
