Mann Points Out the Hole in Corbyn’s Foreign Policy

Responding to Corbyn’s statement that the US should have arrested ISIS leader, al-Baghdadi, John Mann bluntly tweeted:

Baghdadi blew himself up with a suicide belt. An arrest might have been slightly difficult in these circumstances.”

PM Corbyn Would Refuse to Authorise Killing of al-Baghdadi

The biggest international news of the weekend was undoubtedly the killing of ISIS leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, however the Labour Party seemed surprising quiet over the news, without a single press release or Tweet from Jeremy Corbyn or Shadow Foreign Secretary Emily Thornberry. Labour strangely silent on this…

The reason for the radio silence may be Jeremy Corbyn”s ambiguity on whether he would authorise a strike on the ISIS leader if he became PM.

Interviewing Corbyn in 2017, Andrew Marr posited:

the gentlemen in suits walk in and say ‘Prime Minister Corbyn, we’ve got good news for you: al-Baghdadi the leader of ISIS, we know where he is, we can take him out with a drone strike – can we have your permission?’ What do you tell them?”.

Corbyn then spent a minute skirting round the answer, refusing to say he would. At least he didn’t copy the Washington Post’s editorial line and revere Baghdadi as an “austere religious scholar”…

Is Support for Top Gear Causing a Stewart Lee Breakdown?

stewart-lee-isis

Left-wing comedian Stewart Lee is on record as saying that Richard “Hamster” Hammond is the human he hates most. More than Syrian dictator Bashar Assad, more than ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi more than even David Cameron. So the near million signatures on the petition to Bring Back Clarkson and Top Gear to our screens must be causing him some anguish. Judging by his article for the Guardian this morning he has lost all sense of perspective…

At Last! Miliband Finds International Allies for Tax CrackdownISIS Sign Up to Labour’s 50p Rate Policy

50p

François Hollande, Ed Miliband and now Abu-Bakr al-Baghdadi. The FT reports that ISIS are implementing Red Ed’s policy of a 50p top rate of tax across the one holy caliphate:

“Sajad Jiyad, an independent researcher in Iraq, says that Isis struggles to balance its books, but services continue to function because of the money Baghdad still pays to former civil servants in Mosul. Isis taxes those employees at up to 50 per cent of their salaries.”

It’s a cost of jihad crisis! The caliphate can do better than this. One nation….
