British Petroleum has announced it will sell its operation in the North Sea after six decades. CEO Meg O’Neill said:
“The North Sea remains integral to the UK’s energy system. However, as we focus our portfolio and direct capital to our highest-value opportunities, we believe our North Sea business will be better positioned as part of another company.”
Less than a day after Burnham boasted about supporting the North Sea to Trump, saying: “There is a resource there. When people are struggling – you can’t ignore that and hence me indicating that to the president.” Bit of a puncture there…
Krishnan Guru-Murthy asked John Healey: “Just finally, I mean Andy Burnham has been very clear he wants Britain back in the European Union in his lifetime. Do you?”
The Chancellor replied: “I’m older than Andy Burnham. I don’t expect to see that.”
