US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has knocked down suggestions that the White House would back Argentina’s claim to the Falklands. He told The Sun last night that the leaked Pentagon memo floating support for Argentina’s ambition was “just an email”:
“It was just an email. People are getting overexcited by an email. It was just an email with some ideas.”

The memo suggested punishing Britain for Starmer blocking US bombers from Diego Garcia in the first days of the Iran war. It conveniently surfaced on the eve of the King’s State Visit. A visit which looks to have smoothed things over nicely…
Speaking to Adam Boulton on Times Radio about kicking the Golders Green suspect, Heidi Alexander said:
“I thought that if I was in the shoes of that police officer, then if I’m honest, given the situation, and the fact that he had a backpack on his back, and they were worried about whether that might go off, I could, if I was a police officer, frankly, I could see myself having taken similar action.”
