Lucy Powell has this morning won the race to be Labour’s No 2:
“Today (Saturday 25 October) Lucy Powell has been elected Deputy Leader of the Labour Party. The MP for Manchester Central was elected with 54% of the vote among eligible Labour Party members and affiliates.
The breakdown of votes was as follows:
Lucy Powell – 87,407 (54%)
Bridget Phillipson – 73,536 (46%)
Total Number of Eligible Voters: 970,642
Total Number of Votes Cast: 160,993
Turnout: 16.6%
Spoilt Ballots: 50″

Red Wall Labour backbencher Jonathan Brash told GB News that Starmer should resign:
