US Republicans were outraged yesterday over the co-ordination of Labour Party activists to campaign for Kamala Harris on American soil. Labour’s Head of Operations Sofia Patel advertised on LinkedIn that almost 100 party staff would be heading to battleground states and that their housing would be “sorted.” Republican senator Tom Cotton said it’s “yet another reason to vote for president Trump” and Marjorie Taylor Greene asked Labour to “please go back to the UK and fix your own mass immigration problems that are ruining your country.” Former Trump staffer Sebastian Gorka pointed out:“What would Starmer think if president Trump sent a team to campaign against him in the UK?”

Guido understands the Democrats are paying for all this, not Labour, and that party staff are going on their own time. As long as they remain unpaid the campaigning is of course legal. Having the Labour’s DOO organise pro-Harris intereference isn’t the best look for a government insistent on keeping neutral – especially considering Trump’s upgraded chances of victory…
The post is now gone from LinkedIn after scrutiny. Labour must have been hoping for this project to have gone under the radar…
Reacting to the news of Jenrick’s sacking at a press conference in Fife, Nigel Farage said:
“I’ll give him a ring this afternoon. Might even buy him a pint.”
