Nigel Farage has accused Sky News of lying when it said it had not contacted the Reform leader’s family about recent news stories. This is hotting up…
A Sky News reporter chased Farage down to ask him about the Sunday Times story into his donors and he reacted furiously, saying:
“You tell your bosses, you harass my family anymore and I’ll take you the serious consequences. That’s what your organisation has done this morning. Go away… Did you not hear me? You have broken all the rules. Leveson and everything else.”
The broadcaster said: “Sky News has not contacted Mr Farage’s family over the story.”
To which Farage responded:
“This is an outright lie from Sky News. They hounded my daughter at home, just days after The Times published where my family live. Despicable behaviour from the media.”
The broadcaster has yet to respond to the allegation beyond its original statement. Donald Trump is meanwhile supporting Farage, posting an article from The National Pulse headlined: “They’re Running the 2024 Anti-Trump Playbook on Nigel Farage.” According to the Times he has also sought to call Farage to congratulate him on getting rid of Starmer…
UPDATE: Reform source says Sky News is privately arguing that turning up at the home of Farage’s daughter does not constitute “contacting” her.
Badenoch said at her speech on Monday morning: “We are absolutely ready to fight a general election. We saw the results in Aberdeen South: 50% of the vote. Because we can unite the country… It’s about uniting the country, for God’s sake, behind a centre-right agenda.”
